The set up was fairly simple: TL objectoves close to the middle exactly 30 cm apart. SM Objctives deep in enemy territory on each flank. Blitz objectives was facing each other hidden behind hills/mountains.

No garrisons. AMTL spread out across the whole board. Marines choose to put most troops on the center-right flank.

Cool so far! Quick question, are you playing ona 6x4 table? For some reason it seems a bit small in your pics.

Turn 3: TL wins initiative (finally!!)

TL: Quake-Reaver sustains on Devs and Assaults on the left flank. Both formations loose 3 stands each and breaks (yaaay!)

TL: Forge Knight retains and engages Predators. The Predators are wiped out for no Knight losses. (the right flank crumbles for the Marines!)

SM: SM-Warhound marches down to claim T&H objective on left flank.

TL: Sentinels doubles back and fires on the SM-Warhound, 1BM.

SM: Whirlwinds sustain on Sentinels, kills 1.

TL: Warhound doubles close to SM Blitz and fires on Whirlwind, 1 BM.

SM: Tacticals doubles to T&H objective on the left flank and fires on Senitnels, they kill 1 and the formation breaks.

TL: Thunderbolts ground attack Whirlwind. SM Thunderbolts intercept. 1 AMTL Thunderbolt is sht down and the other makes it´s Jink sve.

SM: Thunderhawk lands bu AMTL-Blitz.

TL: Warhound doubles down to to AMTL blitz to contest it and fires on TActicals. 1 Hunter dies.

TL: Thunderbolts stand down.

TL: Gb-Reaver engages Tacticals and wipes them out completly, claiming the BTS Objective.

END PHASE:

Devastators fail to rally.
Assault marines rally.

The SM player concedes the game since he only has 4 formations thats not broken or dead and the AMTL has 4 titans left.

the end result is: AMTL 1 (BTS) - SM 0

My thoughts:

Quake-Reaver was great and devastaing. Liked mit more than i thought i would.
Forge Knights did theor job. But the engagement they won was a very easy one so i can't say if they are UP or OP.
Marines shuld have air assaulted right away and taken out the Quake-Reaver. MW barrages are a marin army biggest enemy.

Fun game!

Yep, that's the right size. guess the pics just made it look off :)

Marines vs. Titans is always a tough battle for marines. It's a bit hard to see in the shots up there but it looks like he really bunched up his units which makes the quake MW template devastating. I think I'd have spread out more to keep as few units under the templates.

I think the earliest I'd have seen assaulting the Reaver was the start of t2. Give you a turn to strip shields and put BM on it and get your speeders into position for supporting fire. Then teleport the Termies in t2, and assault with a thawk or the termies and then try to retain and kill the reaver with whatever hadn't assaulted yet. It's a tough fight either way but it should be enough to pop the reaver.

The other option would be to try killing off all your small stuff and ignore the reavers. I think he had enough to wipe out most of the other formations, but he would have had to be pretty committed to whittle you down as quickly as possible.

How did you feel about the 6 shot GB?

oh, i like the 6 shot GB!! :-) It's alot of shots granted, but it's not that much of a supermega deathweapon of total destruction and doom. I think it works good. But i can't reallt see people take LD after this change...

You mean the TLD? I think it will still show up on warlords but not so much battle titans.
