I had been wondering if prawn heads might offer inspiration, or maybe the microscopic bugs like dustmites or ticks...? Got to agree about the fat feet though - hadn't spotted them on phone screen till now - stick to long saber style claws for all legs imho. Even gw hooves look odd to me.

I am a fan of either or, leaning more towards the redesign though...

I think it looks move menacing. I agree that the first seems to have a smile on it's face...course if I were about to eat my prey I would probably smile too :)

I like it. For shits and giggles and to help differentiate these from You Know Whos bugs, can we try out a hammer head style crest on them? Somewhat similar to those nasties from Pitch Black?

like this sorta=?

The style of the new head is certainly slightly pitch black inspired... Adding the hammerhead look would make it hard to cast though.

Granted those are somewhat pronounced. Just thinking from a place of economic and design reality ignorance here, but perhaps we could cast the head separate sidestepping some of the issues and still have a nubbin thus allowing the modeler some freedom to glue as they want. Instant variability aka PROFIT! ;D
Regardless, this new base I feel is superior starting point. Keep it coming!

Even as a separate piece, you would have to cast it up/down, which would mean youd lose all the mouth details, and couldn't have the mouth open at all

Yeah, like the second version better - definitely more menacing.

Totally unrelated

got my minis, Eloi are sweet, anyone on the fence, order them, they are nice.(no ETA on when I will have them painted, 6 week old baby boy has most of my attention right now :) )

The bombers are BIG. Will definitely be getting some tanks in the near future to round out my army.

Hope to see more stuff added to the store as we go, really good stuff so far.

When will the models from The 2nd Kickstarter be shipped to us backers?

I'm told the first batch will be with us on Tuesday. So, soon.
