RexHavoc Bacchus Wars of the Roses line is lovely and the army packs are excellent value. Also for With Hunters their ECW line is well worth a look as well I'd have said. Irregular is mean't to be a bit 50/50 I'm planning to pick up some stuff from them at the show. May have to check out the Kings of War rules although I've got my own Epichammerspartanconfmachine homebrew written to play about with. It's not plagiarism if you steal from everyone...........

Been assembling artillery. I've also got the Elementals and some big Undead monsters undercoated but undercoated models look terrible in Photographs. I currently have Life, Earth, Air, Fire & Water done. I want to use a 28mm Wraith for Death maybe a LoTR Nazgul if I can filch one cheap. Order is going to be a Golem I want a fantasy mechanica look to him very Ted Hughes Iron Man in style. Chaos is iffy I want something chaotic but not evil an I definitely don't want anything grotesque which might cause problems.

Wow. they are nice. I was going to order some of their trolls for my goblin horde, so I might grab some of these as well- will fit in nicely with my microworld molemen!

Thanks kidterminal. It's getting to the stage of general playtesting soon which is good. Yep Rex Havoc they are nice and you get Water and Fire or Air Elementals with them 6 of the critters for £6 is great value. Kalistra's stuff is well worth a look

Got some painting done this weekend. Last weekend was spent down in works accommodation. Allowed me to see a new part of the country. Although lack of modelling time sucked. This weekend I've attempted to catch up. I've been playing with the Castle Donnington goodies and got these beasties painted up.
Image
These are the 10mm Pendraken Giant Undead and will work nicely for Undead Abominations (various giant style Undead critters) as you can see they loom nicely over the 6mm basic troops. The regular 10mm Undead is earmarked for Undead Horrors who are Ogre equivalents. I've also got some of my Irregular Undead done.
Image
Part of the scaling problem is I accidentally used thinner bases on the Irregular models. I don't think they scale that well together and plan to use the Irregular models as lesser ranked Undead. Zombies rather than Skeletons and Skeletal Horsemen rather than Cursed Knights. Thicker bases could well solve the problem.

Which would I recommend. For variety and quality of sculpts and moulds Microworld games. For cost and charm Irregular (I like the cloaked look and especially like the Cavalry which I prefer to the Microworl games models). The cost recommendation is for two reasons Irregular is cheap and the import tariffs on Microworld Games stuff are prohibitive. Hopefully they'll enter a distribution agreement with someone in the UK. Dark Realm Miniatures makes most sense as Microworld distributes their stuff in the US.

Thanks Mr Gonzo.
Heres a painted Mortar and Limber

Currently I'm beginning the last few odds and sods and it should be ready to playtest soon. I need a human Mage and to finish the spell lists. I'm also currently day dreaming about acquiring more forces for this. The Ash Lords were always written with the Dark Alliance in mind but first I feel Dwarves and Centaurs seem interesting.

It's two bases the gun and limber are separate. Basically the idea in the rules is the gun moves as a limber team model and deploys as a weapon model. The limbers on a 25x50mm and the gun is on a 25x25mm. This evenings been productive as I've also got a Wizard done
Image
He's one of the Irregular Druids separated of the integral base and given a Wizardy look.

This shows some of the Pendraken stuff I've got. The army set is excellent value for £15. The basic 10mm skeletons are to make ogre sized Undead Warriors and I've also got the giant for giant sized warriors. Pendraken is better than either Warmaster or Kallistra for rebasing as the figures are individuals which make life far easier if your using awkward base sizes.

Yes the individually cast figures are better to work with than the warmaster ones.
