I have split this topic at what seemed to me to be the point where it really got into new ideas/new unit discussion rather than rules question. However, I don't play NetEpic, so i took a guess at a title and I may have split this in the wrong place. If anything else needs moving just let me or the other mods know.

Another vote for just corrections here!

Corrections, explanations, a few points cost reevaulations, and perhaps an updating of the army lists to reflect some of the last few years 40K releases where they fill a gap in the list (not just adding for the sake of it). Maybe tightening up the Marine book by removing some of the obscure chapters.

Structually the game works fine, no need to reinvent it.

Another vote for Corrections and explanations, i agree that there's nothing wrong with the core rules, a little worried about all the talk of army list rewrites to include new units IMHO 40k is unbalanced in favor of Marine type armies, one of the things i love about NetEpic is its balance.

No worries. The consensus so far has been unanimous for a "corrections and explanantions" revision. I wholeheartedly agree on the balance. it took us very long to achieve that, so we will not do anything to jeopardize that!

In a few days the inventory will be over and I will tie up the loose end with the titan experiece points left to be discussed and we can begin laying the ground work for the revision.

Revision and sanity check seems to be the way to go. Maybe a tweak to points here and there.
I like the Praetorians having hit tables, they are basically titans on wheels. Don't know what they are like in game these days as I haven't had a chance to play with them yet.
I am still advocating the splitting out of the chapter lists from the marine book to give us a chance to rethink some of them and produce separate documents, either as a separate half dozen page booklet for each chapter or something larger with multiple chapters in.

Obviously one of GWs big way of selling stuff is to bring out new models, we just have to decide if we want to bring them into Epic and if we do, which ones.
For marines, looking at what's in the current codex compared to the Epic list, the only thing that stands out is the Sternguard and Vanguard, pretty much everything else is in Epic already (and I am sure most people have read my previous post about adding stern/van vets to Epic).

I think Primarch has stated many times that any major additions (like the titan plasma rules?) will be released in a new book as an optional set of rules.

The core rules are pretty much there, though I did have one or two thoughts which I will throw out for discussion when the time comes.

You are correct Mattman, to satisfy our desires for "other rules", new units and such it is best to have an addition codex type book. The core books need corrections, but little else. I'm not too fond of all the specific SM chapter stuff in that book. We'll see what is to be done.

Besides I have some old ideas to throw out there. We actually had a flyer phase in one of the revisions (2 or 3), but it was ditched later on. Given the wide variety of flyers available and the importance of air superiority maybe it should be given another shot as an alternate system for the codex add on.

Hey there guys!

My first post on the boards here. Just getting back into Epic after a sixteen year hiatus! I absolutely love the NetEpic rules set and wouldn't want to see them change drastically. For what it's worth I vote for minor tweaks and adding the errata into the main document.

More than willing to proof read anything if needs be.
