I got myself some Forge World pill boxes and I already have a bunch of FW Epic Fortifications.

Some questions though:
1. What do you use as Firebase for Imp. Fists? (they can field fortifications and firebases as part of their list).
2. Are there any rules for Pill boxes in Epic A.?
3. Do bunkers such as the below have any rules? Could one argue to include them in the IF fortifications? I think the fortifications are more walls and firebases. But the bunkers are too small.

Fanatic magazine had loads of different rules for loads of different bunkers / defences. I have some pdf's if you want them

An interesting idea applying rules similar to war engines for defences. I asked a question on another threat about fortification and this seems to answer it.

My question was something like - in the EA rules it states something like during an assault the defenders don't get terrain bonuses as its assumed they came out of cover to fight. My question was why? If I was cozy and safe in a bunker no way would I get out to face an assault. I would stay inside and mow the enemy down while having a cup of tea and a dipping biscuit of my choice!

What do people use for Firebase to suit the Imperial Fist fortification needs?

That's only the case if they initiated the assault, if the enemy did then they get cover saves as normal (though not the -1 to hit that ,there is with shooting, there are never to hit modifiers in assaults).

Still interested in what people use as firebase.. :-)

Funny, I'm building a scenery piece right now I plan to double for a firebase if needed. I'm using some old EA bunker/com objectives, a few FW pillboxes and a crap load of evergreen to craft out the terrain and defenses. Please excuse the complete CRAP picture here as this isn't even yet a WIP. I took a pic with my phone of some random parts/stuff just to get a feel for arrangements of some of the bitz. The black lines are where I intend some type of razorwire fence. The Green will be a retaining wall (built with batton formed sheets with I-Beams) with the area behind it is raised and slopes downhill to the other side made from stucco filler. The Orange line will be where some sort of defensive wall or dugouts will be placed.



It seems you've got all the fixings to do something along those lines (probably something actually even better to be honest)

Another idea is to take some of your terrain and group them on a board and cover it in the 5 minute warmup that anything within that area counts as being in the firebase.
