Just some scale shots of the artillery to give you some idea of the size. After hearing that the Specialist Games range is going to be removed from production I'm hmming and harring. I was planning to leave the big buy until June but I really want the stuff so I'll order it now and hide it till after my exam. I've also just won a batch of models of Ebay so I'm hmming and harring even more.

Looks nicely organic, I nearly missed its Beetleback origins :)

Thanks Speaker to Machines
I personally feel that the Beetleback is the best basis for this type of project they actually go fairly cheaply on Ebay and as plastics they're far simpler to convert. The fact that their an older design also helps imply that their pre-heresy as far as I'm concerned. Yesterday I his first game my Tyranid opponent used a card to mind control him and put his reactor onto the 4+ live damage fortunately he lived but then the Hierophant bit his head of. I also really dislike the Hierodule Titan template. I lost although I had a lot more long range firepower this time. Got these painted as well.

Really happy with the Cannons but the Deathdealers are arguably too varied maybe something from the Dystopian Wars range would make a better fit.

Got Magnus done

The first batch of Doomblasters are painted as well.

These are my Hunters based on plastruct and an Aoshima Light Ordnance Set Torpedo Turret. Great purchase for epic players a set for £7.50 contains 12 turret guns 14 torpedo turrets and about 16 machine guns and some other stuff. If like me you've got a lot of stuff from Ebay needing refurbishment or fancy bodging plastic Rhino variants it's a great lazy option

My Aoshima parts have been getting a work out for some Predators and Mammoths (from an allied PDF force I've vaguely got) Aoshima upping Predators from Rhinos means I'll have a full company sometime soon. The Mammoths are old soviet tanks I got for my Orks which scale better for this project.

These Ancient Daemons have also got some paint I'd quite like a fifth of the Daemonettes to finish them of. Oddly enough I find the Daemonettes quite disturbing. I have to admit I like the Keeper of secrets stockings though.
Image
Finally I've got these Silver Towers done based on Glue Lids the planned Blue Fire looks more like Anemone or Bart Simpson hair but that looks fine for chaos.

Fairly big blog post as a new job means I'll be out of town for my Birthday and that means my imaginary friend and the voices in my head gave me my presents early.

I had a large order from GW planned for ages and confirmed when they stopped doing Specialist Games. A Daemon Horde of Tzeentch, Keeper of Secrets, Lord of Change and Great Unclean One (I don't like the Bloodthirster) I also included 5 boxes of Chaos troops
Image

I also get to show of my Triples Goodies. Got to admit that I far prefer seeing and buying miniatures in the fesh especially from smaller manufacturers as it gives far more of an idea of scale. I also find it far harder to resist temptation when they're in the flesh as it were.

Heres an overview shot
Image

The main aim was to acquire some Daemon Beasts (Fiends and Beasts of Nurgle) which aren't available in plastic. I was also hoping to pick up some Zombies but sadly Exodus Wars didn't make it.

Image
These are the Dark Realm miniatures Defender Critters earmarked for Fiends of Slaanesh.
Image
These Ground Zero Games Alien bugs will be Beasts of Nurgle.
Image
I wouldn't have ordered these Malcore Beasts if I hadn't seen them on the day but I think they'll make perfect Chaos Spawn.
Image
These Castellans were another impulse on the day buy. I reckon they'll make excellent Decimators after being suitably bodged.
Image
These 15mm GZG Spider Drones were definitely the new find of the day those 6 legged chassis are the ideal lazy base for Defilers and will make bodging them far easier. I'm also considering using them as an under carriage for a Slaanesh Knight bodge as well. Bung a Torso up either a skeleton or maybe an old Dark Eldar one and hey presto jobs a good one. I'll be getting more of these I can feel it.

At £3 for 3 I think it's a very affordable method indeed GZG has a load of nice stuff for 6mm unfortunately their website can be erratic with what's shown. I'm going to do at least 6 and I'm also wondering whether it might make a good base for the other Chaos Walkers.

Aoshima pattern Predators giving me a 2nd company. Easy way to do it just get your hands on some spare Rhinos and use the gun turrets. The machine guns are used as Sponsons. The kit is the Aoshima Light Ordnance set and will have enough for 8 Predators. They're 1;700 ship weapons and ideal for upgunning historicals to Epic standards as well

These are my mighty Greater Daemons
Image
The Warmaster models are far bigger and more imposing than the Epic ones. I fiddled with the weapons a bit I just couldn't resist dual wielding scimitars on the Keeper of Secrets and the Great Unclean One looks good with a Scythe.
I've also got a newjob and have just finished my OU modules exam. As a reward I've pledged money for the Alien Bikers and Defeat in Detail box from Troublemaker Games.
