I am back from my vacation and after a hectic first-week-of-the-year at work I managed to finish the Trygons, although I am thinking of adding teeth to the Mawlock's lower jaw, I even have an idea for an easy fix for it. I will also trim the sensor antennas on the Mawloc a little. I am quite pleased with how they turned out, towering over their foes as they emerge from ground. I figure the larger bases make up for the smaller footprint of them. Now, I'll just paint them and make "bursting-out" bases for them.

That was a long spring with little or no painting. If only the sun would shine a little so I could take some better pictures. Here's a teaser for now.

Thanks. Weather keeps being miserable in these parts of the world, so I had to brighten up the pictures a bit.

Trygon Swarm: I wanted to play at their Tunnelling special deployment rule, so I wanted to raise them into the air and create some sort of crater/hole for them to emerge from.
Image

I gave this one a horned Ripper head, in case I want to give the Leviathan list a shot, to mark Synapse. The Hormagaunt was added to frantically charge out in a different direction, to highlight the fact that they would pop up in the midst of enemy formations.
Image

I added chimney vents to make them more alike the current Trygon and went for a snake-like pose, as if it had seen its victim and started to bend towards it.
Image

I turned one into a Mawloc, just for fun. I shortened its talons, created a wider jaw and a flesh hook tongue and built the (sensory?) antennas around the head and along the back out of plastic rod.
Image

While the other Trygons rise to the sky in search of prey, I built the Mawloc charge more like a crocodile attack, like "ahaaarrrhh!".
Image

The final Trygon is done in the green colour scheme.

As always, thanks for the kind comments. Hopefully, this will get the ball rolling, because with all those sweet 6mm models that people keep producing, I had better start painting a little more.

Thanks for the comments. My wife has bought a new objective for our digital camera and misplaced the old one (the one with a zoom). She does not "believe" in zoom, so it leaves me quite miserable every time I try to take pictures of tiny models. Add a really dark and cloudy day to it...

I have two more titans for the basic army to be finished, and then I'll find the objective, set up good light and have a little photo session. I have great plans for expanding this army (thanks to various sources). Some classic, some new, some onslaught.

Soon, this blog will move towards finishing my guards, and the building of my chaos cultist army (I am building the fifth coven at the moment).

I have not been the most industrious of painters the past year. I had originally planned to finish my Tyranids by now, but my Titans (last of the Onachus force) are only half-finished.

Anyway, to show my good intentions, I thought I would part with 2013 by posting a last picture of some lovely miniatures. I think these are some of the best miniatures ever produced in 6mm, and I tried to make them justice.

Image

The big resin Carnifexes were too big when used together, so I'll use them as Tervigons when I give the Leviathan list a spin, and added another three smaller ones instead.
