Yep sure any idea when that'll be? I'm not fussed about size of game much but I definitely want to get more in. 6K seems to be a nice round amount but any more than about 10k might be a struggle to get finished. I know Rykk's Nid's are just about done and hopefully we'll get a bit more variety. I'm wondering about suggesting a proper Epic event day like the big campaign day's in the near future.

I should be over in Sheffield this Saturday (2nd). Happy to play a 6k game.
Yeah, saw Rykks post. Ian has his Eldar and Scrowe has some imperial, Duncan has Guard and Victoria and Mike have their EA armies which they can use for NetEpic. So plenty of people wanting or thinking about playing.
When Duncan gets a few games under his belt, I am sure he will want to do some sort of big event.

Matt

Pat of the reason behind the choice of Word Bearers was so I could play with all the varietys of Daemon Engine available to the Dark Gods. Unfortunately finances and inclination make the chances of picking up of the genuine GW models a snowballs chance in hell. Instead I'm planning to kit bash. Most of these will use random Epic and 6mm vehicles for the chassis (expect lots of T28's I brought a batch to use as Ork tanks and decided they were under sized for what I want happily they fit this nicely). Hopefully when finances will allow I'll use a lot of Dystopian wars vehicles as well. Gribbly details will be provided from a 28mm Skeleton kit and I'm planning to give everything a head of some description. I started with a group of 3 Cauldrons of Blood. However they went straight to undercoat.
So here are the Breath of Nurgle (how on earth do you pluralise that?) The nozzle on two of them is the Skeleton Musician Oom-Pah-Pah horn end.
Image
I've also created some Contagions of Nurgle using beads (purchased from the Haberdashery aisle at Atkinson's at the same time as the little beads and sequins from my antennae). The throwing arms are based around Skeleton legs and zombie hands. Some Aoshima 1/700 ship turret went in as well.
Image
Fun simple and for a tiny fraction of the cost of the original models.

Ah, beat me to the nurgle boys. Was thinking about doing Nurgle for my Chaos army (whenever I get round to it :/ )
Get some paint on them and I bet they will look sweet.

@Mattman: Warning, I'm learning that painting Chaos can eats up hours, days, weeks, probably months...

I did find another answer as well. OO gauge Model railway spear link fence I got enough for about forty tanks for £4.25.

Sorry for the blurry shot.

Perfect! That idea is being swiftly stolen for my Red Corsairs! How hard is it to work with? I'd guess it'd be quite fiddly. Look for a ToEG log appearing in the next few weeks.

That is one hell of an ork army btw!

Cheers maddoctor.
Mattman there is nothing wrong with multiples of the same army especially chaos it's not as if they don't fight each other. As I'm planning to do elements from all the gods anyway I could always use another god that day. Only problem would be if you paint them up as Word Bearers.
Captain Senioris. If you leave them still attached to the top cross bar they are relatively easy to work with Once it's stripped down to that it's one single whole piece whih can be stuck once. It glues with Polystyrene cement and is a doddle to work with, 3 Rhino's take about 5 minutes.

Just finished my first Brass Scorpion it's basically a horizontalised skeleton with a sprue traction engine. The tail gun is from Ground Zero Games and the wheels are watch spares from Ebay.

Well not sure if I am doing with the marines side of things , I guess Deathguard to keep it in the family (what is it with me and green at the moment???). Think I am going to look at doing a more daemon centric army though.
Like you though, I might expand into the other gods at some point.
All this is a long way off though as I have several boxes of squats to deal with after my marines and titans before I actually do anything with chaos and given how long it takes me to paint things, who knows when that will be :-\

Glad everybody likes the spear fence idea it's fairly common in model railway shops. I'm still delighted with the Brass Scorpion I will definitely be making more in that style.

Being out of work I have an unfair advantage ::) but one I'll use while I can. I'll be adding Daemons and stuff when finances allow, as I've got plenty of the basic marines, guardsman and beastmen from Ebay I'm focusing on doing them first. The cheapest and best way to buy Epic Chaos Daemons and specialists is direct from GW as they do the Chaos plastics on the website. Basically the long term plan (in roughly this order) is -
GW binge Chaos Plastics, Greater Daemons and Horrors.
Dystopian War Models for Doomblasters and Cannon of Khorne and Flyers.
Dropzone Commander Walkers for Eldar Knights (Possibly Firestorm Invasion instead)
Microworld Beastmen and bobbins
Bobbins from Exodus Wars.

Also Matt you've got a fair amount done. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Each of these will be purchased in fairly big batches.

Worryingly enough going from past experience they'll be a change of job between each purchase. For those who don't know I'm a field archaeologist and basically a construction worker. I wor short term contracts on projects through out the British Isles. I've worked in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales on sites from the wilds of Dartmoor and hills above Oban to inside a Swimming Pool building in Central London. The recession has hit my industry hard and while my jobs utterly awesome a career in archaeology is utterly awful. But hey ho I still get a thrill from it when I'm working however terrrible the current employer is.

Yeah I know Dan. Very rarely do I have multiple hours to spend on painting/modelling, so my time will be in short bursts, but hopefully at least once a day I can get something done, maybe even more so when I get my Man Cave built this year ::) ;D
Problem I have is a set myself to many projects on the go at once and start making plans for others as well. Need to reign things in a bit :-\
This is what I have on the go at the moment:

Full Salamander Chapter in Epic (a few more purchases needed, but I think I have enough troops for about 3/4 so far, only a small proportion are based).
Squat army (a have been picking up models over the last six months and reckon I have in my possession now the equivalent of 50 sprues worth, super heavies need to be sourced/scratch built).
Titan Legion (as I posted about here http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22779).
Chaos of some description (again, I have been picking up cheap sprues for this army).
Full Modular Epic City board (to cover a 6' x 4' area).
Other secret modular battlefield project which can work with the City above or be used on its own.

Some might have to move to the back burner for a while, but at least I am actually painting models at the moment, albeit slowly.

Matt

Sounds good about the chapter. I believe its every 40k gamer to either own a chapter or wipe one out in a game. For the squat super heavys the Firestorm Invasion or Dystopian War stuff would work well.

On to my project. I've got two company cards finished. A Chaos Cult and Beastman Warband.

I've also finished these.

They are my Cauldron of Blood bodges and showcase my planned Daemon scheme of moody Word Bearer Red with God colour details. In this case Khornes Brass and Red. These are mostly based around random tank chassis with bits added. The flaming cauldron is from the Vampire Counts Corpse Cart.

I've also got a question is this more like a Blood Reaper or a Tower of Skulls?

Stick a few more skulls all over the tower and it would totally be a tower of skulls!
