Great work. I think the hexagonal bases look great for Tyranids. They remind me of the old Tyranid cards.

I think it's the honeycomb/insectoid thing, as well as the fact that it's different and more organic looking than other bases which makes it so effective!

if I ever get round to doing a nid army, I'm totally sold on the hex bases for them!

Yes, that's also what I feel. And when I put all the bases touching one another, the end result is more of a jumbled mess than a neat block.

Anyways, here is the progress for this week. Last synapse swarm finished (at least until I can get more gaunts). That Totals 7 Swarms in 24 days. Longest period of time I've painted straight, and still motivated. Thanks for the helpful comments people!

All close together for a cool effect.
