Having failed miserably to take part in this years ToEG, I figured I'd start a log to record the painting I do, and hopefully motivate myself to complete more of the piles of stuff I have lying around.

Due to various Real Life commitments hobby time is a premium for me, so anything I paint needs to have an effective, simple and quick paint scheme.

Don't look at any of these models if you want artistic inspiration - I take no responsibility for anyone copying anything I do!!!

Cheers
Reedar

Base coating done on the first one.

Experimenting with colours scheme at the moment. How much detail is too much/too little?

How much do you guys pick out on these things?!

Cheers
Reedar.

Apologies for the shoddy photo - taken on a phone in poor lighting....

The above mini looks fine but reckon you should put a wash on it. the driver, for example, is a bit splodgy!

Cheers.

Yea, that's just the base coating. I started doing the detail highlighting this morning.
Need to finish the yellow and the basing this savo...

Right. Test mini finished.

I'm happy with the overall look, but I'm not pleased with how the rider looks.
The flames didn't come out that well either, but am I being harsh as it's a tiny space to work in?

C&C welcome guys

Cheers

Reedar

Looking good! I see what you mean about the flames, but as you said, the scale is not the biggest of big.

I reckon it looks pretty damn spiffy, the flames could be a little better, but I know there are limits to brush sizes and steady-handedness ;)

I like them! My 2011 ToEG was about orks - I went about skorchas and buggies like this:

but I had a bit more time. I think yours have just the right amount of detail

I don't dislike the flames you did, but maybe they'll be more effective coming from a dark line at the bottom as well, like this?

Cheers for this Rasta, I like the look of your orks. I did consider painting the 'lip' at the bottom of the flame area, but decided it would be too thich.

You're deffo right though. I'll try a line out on the next one....
