Well some new shiny's turned up to distract me.

I've always loved the dark red alt scheme the 'eavy metal team did.

I'd like some input, do you like them? What, if anything, would you change?

I want to keep my basing scheme unified across my armies but I want these to look more dead. I could use a different colour of static grass, how does that sound?

Next up Marine infantry with company colours, at last!

Or you could leave out the static grass altogether - probably the simplest solution, unless you think they look too empty that way. The bases look good without it.

I like the way you blended the greens, and the metal skeletons are a good shade - looks really good. Is there a brown wash in there? I can't think of anything to add to the figures themselves, but a light drybrush and wash on the base might be good (if that' doesn't hurt the continuity across armies that is).

Cheers for the feedback dude, yeah there is one more layer of drybrushing to be done on the base, up to bleached bone but at that stage it looks a bit plain. I've seen some brown/burnt grass which I was thinking of trying.

There is both a devlan mud and badab black wash on the metallics, the basecoat was chainmail. I was really glad at how quick they are to do.

I like necron bases without life fits the pseudo undead theme. :)

Also great color scheme, the red makes them stand out nicely.

Thanks Guthwine the comment truly is appreciated.

Now to update.

To celebrate the release of THQ's Space Marine game we have some space marines:

5th company in all its glory
Image

A small portion of 8th company and their Land Speeders
Image

2 devastator squads from 9th co
Image

The bikes of 6th Company
Image

Some Thunderhawks because I haven't shown any yet.

Image

I finished a 'cron Phalanx
Image

Comparison shot to show the difference a change of grass can make.

Image

I fiddled slightly with my camera settings, I'm hoping the yellow is easier to look at now!

Comments and critics welcome, thanks for looking!

Thanks Cal, high praise indeed!

Thanks caregadras!

Well I've done just about all the Imperial Fists I own, a character here and there and a certain Flyer is just about it, so unless I get some Whirlwinds from Granny Wendy or some Mark Toobs make their way over the Atlantic that's them done!

To paraphrase caregadras IN ALL THEIR GLORY!!!

Some Highlights:
Space Fortress Barge and a Strike cruiser

I tried to emulate Vaaish's weathering/dirty-ing technique on my vehicles
Image
Image
Admittedly not the greatest pic of my LRs...

My latest formation of 9th Co Devastators
Image

As suggested by Dobsy I attempted to highlight the Fist emblems on my siege shields. Hope they came out better.
Image

Lastly, I guess I have some characters, a flyer and some dreadnoughts to do, completely forgot I had these.

Did some re-posing...

I'm now knee deep in Zombie robots to do, I had considered doing them for TOEG2011 but feel 2 threads would be a bit too much! Who would I ask to move/rename the thread?

Thoughts/criticsms anyone?

Thanks Egel, glad you like them!

RE the Barge: Steal away, I was really pleased that the circular Fist icon was the right size for the rear wings on the barge, then I was inspired to mount the larger gauntlet on the front. It seems like the kind of extravagance the fists would be partial to.
