Wow. Nice build.

What sort of tools do you use to get all the pieces of plasticard in place? Or is it just ultra coordination and steady hands??

A decent flat tip tweezer I stole from my sister's hobby box. Not sure what she used it for, but it was more craft stuff rather than models.

Finally finished after paying for more square rods to make the bolters.

Since I've seen the Grey Knights, I wish I made four now, so I could use two for my Blood Angels and two for a future Grey Knight Army :(

The finished item is slightly larger than I hoped, but still smaller than the thunderhawk. But can't imagine having a five man termie squad in there.

Excellent scratchbuilding work there, I can't put my finger on why but I prefer yours to the 40k scale one.

+1
I had a good chuckle at the stormraven when it appeared on the forums - but I think the scratchbuilding you've done makes it look much better.

EDIT: after looking at your pic with the termies, the stormraven is screaming for a valkyrie/vulture type of tail. GW's concept is just too compact

Funny you should say that, the tail was one of the first few components I made for the body and I decided to keep this seperate as I could see myself breaking the tail repeatedly.

So the tail slides in and out the back :D

Nice :) Looks more compact than the 40k version :)

Anyone got any pictures of the 40k stormraven under-side? I'm almost done painting it, but would like to capture the details under the wing... yeah, I can make it up, but as the whole scratch built was based on the 40k model and all the current painted detail as well, I may as well go the full mile.

Painted with detail, however I havent added any shadow etc.

Was planning to do the details on the jets, but thought it looked good enough.
