We've already got Tau Pathfinders and Alaitoc Pathfinders, at least this new thing has a different prefix.

I've always liked the word Ombudsman. We should work that in somehow. Don't worry that it won't make sense.

Obituator sounds like a bad He-man villain. I think he teamed up with Perspirator.

obliterator pylon sounds fine. also thinks ignore cover works, sounds like some of the chaos weapons.
"Out of earthshaker range" almost sounds like unlimited range, though i think that is a bit much.
i guess this would be something to go in the (much talked about, but never worked on) tomb guard list (or whatever the name is)

Why all this fuss over the name?

The unit is described as a pylon-sized artillery type unit called a Gauss-Obliterator.

So, that's its name.

From the description, in Epic it'd be some sort of BP weapon, but not with any great special ability like Disrupt or Ignores Cover.

Ditto. And weapon name isn't the same as unit name (earthshaker-basilisk)

Here are some ideas I considered for a gaussplaterator. They would leverage existing parts of the zombie robot war machine, hopefully requiring a minimum of new parts.

The idea is to add some arcs and replace the central gun. The ZRWM is a direct fire weapon that rotates on a turntable, and then pivots along a central mount for direct fire action, action, action.

The new design uses the arcs and some focussing junk to lob a wad of something in a high ballistic path, with the initial trajectory set by the magnetic fields of the arcs. I presume the wad is a piece of zombie metal that has been started to decay via gaussiness, reaching critical explosiveness near the end of its trajectory.

The three arc concept would need a new type of leg to help with the balance. And, obviously, the new parts in the middle would be fully gubbined in the zombie robot fashion.

Hmmm, since it's a "Gauss" weapon I imagined it would look something like this guy's gun, only bigger:Image

You could probably keep the two arc things of a Pylon, and just have a new "gun" piece in the centre.

Actually, I think the designs are junk, I just had to get them out of my system.

E&C, how would that kind of weapon fire indirectly?
