Chaos Land Raider

 Post subject: Chaos Land Raider

When (sorry, something stuck in throat) Specialist Games makes land raiders for chaos, what would you chaos players like them to look like? Like the loyalist LR but with some iconography and dragon heads on the lascannon sponsons? Or perhaps a variant like this one from 40K?

The picture may be a little unclear. It adds a top section where the lascannons are mounted, and the sponson+door combo on the side is replaced with a single door.

I guess it would be neat to make side door options, but extra pieces means extra cost.

I think an older style, pre-heresy pattern with arrows and iconography would look cool.

I'd like the newer loyalist style with some eight sided stars, dragon head guns etc. Your raubtiers were brilliant that way.

I'm thinking variety is best, even if the more parts = increased overall costs per model.

I have two Chaos Land Raiders now and really like the idea of having them almost Orkified in their different configurations. Ramshackle re-construction of really old tanks has to come with some really interestingly rigged variations.

If Grandma Wendy did some i would say a mix of new and FWs Pre-heresy Land Raider would be cool. Then add some spikes and eight pointed stars and dragon heads on the weapons :)

When GW makes a Chaos Raider, I would like one that did bith a Preheresy configuration (side sponsons with vertically mounted lascannon) and a configuration similar to the pictured one. I think if the top of the sponsons for the preheresy were flat or flat enough to file flat, and there was a roof component, side door components, and two sponsons included, it could be designed to have the sponsons fit on the sides or top-to-top on the roof like the pictured turret, then the unused slots could have the roof/door installed.

Indeed....But if GW were to make them it would be nice it they would match some Non-Order stuff I've seen. The newer style is much better. ;)

I've always disliked that "turreted" land raider.

I like the pre-heresy Raider though.

I personally like the Mark 2 with Chaos Icons...Stars, Dragon Barrel guns....maybe a little spikey...i should upload some shots of my friends 40k Chaos Iron warriors army...it is very Chaos IMHO, spikey but not twisted...more just...evil.

Pre-Heresy?
Oldskool?

Really, you cannot beat the original for that:

Everything else is post heresy as far as I am concerned

I agree with frogbear, when talking about pre-heresy Land Raider, it refers to MK1 pattern. Any other pattern is (surely) post-heresy :)

I like the top turret Chaos Land Raider, at least it's more original than just an imperial LR with few spikes and chaos stars. About Chaos-ification, I like the small pyramides that were added to the Epic-40K era chaos vehicles.
