Just saw this over on TGN:

http://www.s6engineering.co.uk/smallscale.html

So, why cant this be done for 6mm :P AND do you think this would work fine at 6mm? The end result would merely be a wider road, right?

Looks very nice. I would love some one to that in 6mm and especially the city bases that fit with the roads. I like the river too.... Now I just need money to try them out....lol

I think the size looks about right for 6mm too. Doing them half the size of that would look odd compared to the size of most Epic buildings not to mention the "heroic" 6mm scale of most Epic models. Going purely by the measure of the eye I think they're about the same size as the home made roads I currently use.

Scott at S6 Engineering has plans to make a 6mm version –
here's the Dakka discussion, to which he regularly responds.

He seems like a really nice chap, and is really churning things out quickly. He's apparently got plans to reproduce the canal set at smaller scales, too, so I'm going to keep poking him and hope he explodes like a pinãta of perspex toy soldier goodies.

I'm certainly going to be picking up the 15mm set – as you guys note, I reckon it'll work well for the grand OTT nature of Grimdark Future Architecture (or G-FArt). +++As a quick edit, Scott's just announced that there'll be 15mm baseplates produced to go with his 15mm roads. Cool!+++

The roads are useable for Epic but they're a bit large to my eye. Three Rhinos abreast is more like a highway than a road! The building baseplates that Apologist has mentioned are going to be compatible with the 15mm and 6mm roads and there will be a 15mm-6mm adaptor piece so that you can mix and match.

The 6mm set will be a touch larger than half the 15mm but I haven't worked out exactly how large yet...

Wow, awesome. I have already started basing my buildings on 4" squares, or on sheets of 2mm styrene in multiples of 4", but was truly dreading having to make my own modular road system to match. Now all I need to do, it seems, it change the base size for my city and I'll be good to go!

It's still being designed so I'd estimate a couple of weeks. Probably week after next.

How wide is the 15mm scale road?

Just by eyeballing it I'll probably be getting the 15mm scale roads to use with Epic, as Epic roads need to be able to accomodate larger stuff like super-heavy tanks (Often almost the size of a FoW tank) or Titans.

The 15mm roads are 5cm wide. Epic super heavies aren't as big as a FoW Tiger (7x3.5cm).

Personally, I don't see roads accommodating titans at all!

You know what's worse - if you rip them off the bases the glue takes a little strip of paint off the bottom of all the walls. Guess how I know....

No, but they do have almost the same footprint as a Sherman.

I will be buying "15mm" sets then, as 5cm wide is nigh-perfect for Epic (Titan bases are 6cm wide, so I wouldn't go any narrower personally).

Unless you choose to do a "Grand 6mm Roads" set, which would have the detail level of the 6mm set, but also a width of ~5cm?
