Well, they were going to be sons of Orar colours (but not fluff), then they came out darker red more like ravens yes. But really i don't mind, i don't intend to name them anyway and probably wont give them a badge, they are meant to be entirely 'generic' marines to use with all lists :)

Anyway I needed some drop pods, so I made some drop pods. Don’t know what size they are meant to be, but this looked ok for eyeball. Not sure what to put inside them yet, ill probably make a few assault cannon deathwinds. I might go back and add more details like door hinges. I only thought half way through that I could have made some dread pods, the spruenuaghts are not pleased.

Was considering doing a step-by-step but they are so easy anyway there didn’t seem to be much point, here is a pic of the parts anyway:

Those (both the drop pods and 'naughts) are nothing short of incredible.

Cutting the card - just a really sharp hobby knife or do you have something else that you use?

Just a hobby knife. Pods are made from 1mm (base and doors) .75 (vanes) 0.25? (vane detail). The 1mm and .75 were scored with a knife then snapped off, apart from sharp external angles with no other edging, where i chopped it off rather than snapping to keep a good line. The .25 proved annoying to snap so i just sliced it up. I use a pair of long nosed, bent nosed pliers to hold 1 half of the bit to be snapped just before the score line to hold it firm, this stops the wrong bit snapping as i mark up all of my pieces very tightly grouped to minimise the number of cuts.

You could cut the build time by about 50% by ignoring all of the acute angles on the inside of the vanes (cant just snap them off so easily) and just having a vertical edge meeting in the middle, like the GW epic version.

scored up pod doors pre-snaping:

Ive never tried making a plasticard woman AoC...although i am thinking of making a drop ship, don't think i have the time though ???

I still think the only way you can cut those shapes that regularly and repetativly is that you are actually some kind of robot or cyborg or something. just incredible.
