great day. got to meet new people and play new armies, what more could you ask for? as far as pics, i think moscovian was the only one taking pictures, so we'll have to wait for him.
by the way..... i forget.... um, which state came home with the trophy?

I am really, REALLY sorry to not have made it.  My wife has had the flu all week and I thought I'd be able to avoid it.  Friday night into Saturday morning that proved not to be the case, in violently unpleasant ways.  I would have really preferred getting my ass kicked in Epic than coping with bedspins and...well let's leave it at that.

Great freakin' timing.  I was really looking forward to my first games of Epic since Games Day '09.

'Twas a very good day of epic, and great to put some faces with forum names.

Even though the necrons and eldar danced around my IG until their poor little heads spun off, my conviction that all quality people in this world are named "Matt" was confirmed   :)  .

Hopefully, Dave will put up some chronicles of the trials and tribulations of Adeptus Ineptus soon for all to enjoy...

next time we'll have to group together and be "Team Matt". then at least we can shout "mein gott, they're walking all over us" :)

I had a really great time against two wiley and fun opponents, even though I didn't manage to win either game. I do blame Ron's dice however and I can see why he bought a new set! Looking forward to seeing the pics and the next games day in PA  :agree:

Yeah, good weekend. Given the distance, I'm glad we stayed two nights.

Our goal was for everyone to play against someone they've never played before. Except for a grudge match between Dave and Moscovian, I think we managed that. I played against Tau (Ron) for the first time. Although I lost both games, they were both close. The second game, which was against Cameron's Marines, was 0-0 at the end of turn 4. He won on points, having managed to kill my pair of Warhounds and breaking, but not completely destroying my Ordinatus Armageddon formation. If it had gone to turn 5, the outcome might have been different.

another thing I wanted to say was thanks to all the people that brought such awesomely painted armies - they've provided me with the inspiration I needed to paint up my Ulthwe. Pretty much every army I saw was beautifully painted, made me a bit ashamed to be using my scrappy lot. The goal - have a fully painted army by the next games day in March/April!

Some pictures, awards, and a healthy dose of gloating on this link.

Good time.  The drive back was brutal for the first hour and the drive in was equally bad on the way in.  Other than that the day was fantastic.

glad to hear you got back okay Mosc, I was a bit worried about you lot. Very glad I took your advice and stayed! I'm updating my list of stuff so we can sort out what I owe you as I know Matt (mnb) and Dave (Dave) are after some bits too :)

Pictures, along with a length in-character debriefing (yes my pants are still on Mosc.) and jabs at everyone in attendance, are here:
