Fugging Volvo engine mounts! I'm getting a Jap car next time!

Since we're ranting... I am irritated with myself.  I had a big bag of old style metal Wave Serpents and I can't find them anywhere.  It's like they frakkin' vanished. Somebody out here wanted a trade for them and I can't find their email either, so I can't remember who to send them bad news to.  GRRRRRRRR!

Hello, my name is Kris and I have bought a 28mm space marine miniature.

A couple of years ago whilst still playing 40k I bought a space marine librarian to try out painting yellow. Yes we have all done it, we thought it would be fun. But it is not! I am so sorry that I have encouraged GW to produce more marines. To make up for this I later bought epic miniatures for half a fortune (and yes to some extent more marines, but they were epic so it doesn't count). But I still feel so ashamed for buying the one space marine librarian. I can't even stand the disgusted look on the faces of my 28 mm orks and tau, because they know what I bought, when I line them up for play. I feel so dirty.

Goddam Volvo! Today I get to pay $2500 for a new slave cylinder, linkage, and seal. Then there's the upcoming $900 timing belt replacement.

900? I had that done (at volvo, not even an independent dealer) a month ago and they charged 2200 SEK (appr 300 USD). What model have you got? XC90 or something?

Nah, the world's cheapest 2003 S60. I'm getting the work done at the dealership, which tends to have high labor costs.

It was literally the cheapest Volvo ever manufactured for its class at the time. No option packages. Manual transmission. Old model year discount. Hail damage (but barely noticable). And, apparently, no staying power.

In fact I was forced to exchange the slave cylinder too (had to look that word up on wikipedia to know what it is in swedish though!) about a year ago. Mine is an -97 850 and its quite similar to the s60 mechanically. I think that failed because the brakes had frozen or perhaps rusted during the winter months though (didnt move it for 4 months or so). Its not supposed to "just happen". Again I thought that was expensive when I took it to my nearest Volvo workshop (it was an emergency...) but they still charged less than half what you paid :-O

Im fairly happy with my car though. Ive hade it for 4 years and about 60000 km (total mileage 250 000). The engine still starts without the slightest problem at -10 C and runs great. But youre right, newer Volvos suck. But quality is poor on many cars nowadays. And cars eat cash for breakfast, lunch AND dinner...
