Those raveners are amazing.

So, with two armies under my belt (although I still want to add to them), I have begun process on the two armies for the Warseer Tale of 40K Painters for the next 11 months. First up is a test model for my Grey Knights. My first entry will consist of a Grey Knight Order (4 Grey Knights in PA) with an additional 2 Grey Knight Dreadnoughts.

So, test knight #1:

#1, again, but from different angles:

I am not perfectly happy with the nemesis blade, but zooming in on a particular model can be regrettably unflattering at this scale. I wanted to create a "swirling" effect as opposed to a regular surface highlight, but I think I started in the usual way and tried to add the effect later. I will try to re-do it. If anyone has ideas, photos, or criticism, you are more than welcome at this point.

/Fredmans

Will some of us be as lucky as having them looked on at BSK?
(Urgh, I must learn to re-structure my sentences.)

I'll take a potshot at Borås SpelKonvent, but I am not really sure.

Anyhow, the first Grey Knight formation is now finished (I never said this was going to be a fast log): a grey knight order with 2 Dreadnoughts.

Grey Knights:

from the back:

GK Dread:

from the sides:

the entire formation:

I had a blast painting these models, although the details almost drove me insane. Multiple purity seals on 6mm infantry  :oo:

For those with very keen eyesight, it might be discernible that these models are painted in detachments within the order. The order carries blue Nemesis weapons and both captains have red tabards, but one detachment carries red weapons whereas the other carries black ones. The dreads are designated to one detachment each in the same manner. I intend to keep this as a way to distinguish formations.

looks good. Too bad those models are so fragile though. I'd not want to actually use them in games after putting that much work into them.
