No. Fire. Remove casualties. Add up blast markers (coming under fire + kills). Remove that many non fearless units.

Actually, you do lose a unit immediately for "coming under fire", as that step is resolved before attacks.

After that, you take the total number of kills from shooting, say, "three units", and then, instead of applying the usual three Blast markers, you remove three more non-fearless units; so, in essence, it is very similar to "double the kills".

The whole "Place BM for coming under fire" as the first step gets wonky when you have broken formations.  It regularly causes confusion.  It's a lot easier to roll hits/kills normally, add up BMs, and then remove "hackdown" casualties for the BMs.

Like speed-rolling, there are a few cases where it could potentially end up with slightly different results, but it's much smoother to implement.

ok, when using BP weapons, you still get a -1 modifier for doubling right? i know you cant move and indirect anything, but say i have a great gargant that doubles and shoots with a combined BP of 5 with soopa guns, normally hitting tanks on AT 5+, that becomes 6+ right?

Yes.  The Double -1 to hit applies to all shooting attacks made by the doubling formation, including barrage attacks.

Yes, the Lord is a character and is added to a unit in the formation, using all the unit's basic stats, it does not act as an additional unit.
