It's very cool that Epic has caused even a small stir, no doubtings.

Anecdotal proof that Epic would still sell if pushed properly. I started Gaming when I was 13 and Epic quickly became my favourite system, mostly due to the size of the warmachines which dwarfed the infantry when they stood next to them as well as the fun my mates and I had at quake cannoning buildings!

When the lady asked EPIC UK 'would we like to do a display?' ...

The way I recall the invitations appearing originally was by returning to my Ork army at Open War to see the GW lady's card by my army asking me if I'd like to display it.

I can see now I should have bitten her hand off at the time...

Aye, at first she just left some cards asking to put armies in the museum, but once someone told her Matt organised an "Epic group" (as she called it) she then asked Matt to organise it, or Matt offered to organise it and she accepted, or something like that anyway.

Unfortunaletly She left around 8 cards (not all for armies on display at the tournament; she gave some cards to me when I said there were other brillant armies not at the event).

There were far too many armies nominated for one showing so therefore she asked EPIC UK to co-ordinate it (as EPIC UK know alot more EPIC gamers than she did); we therefore had to choose which armies to put in the case, and the armies in there were EPIC UK's choice (bar Matthew Otter's own army which was a stand in).

Chris, I've already mentioned in my first post that next time EPIC UK do this display your army, Alan Saunders army etc will go in there...

... EPIC UK couldn't please everyone in one go and for that I apologise.

Sorry, I'm confused, I always assumed you were Matthew Otter?

I know he/you (also? only?) posts as Braveheart (too?)?

EDIT: You refer to yourself as 'Me' earlier in the post so you are Matt Otter...

...but you are Braveheart too, right?

Just want to get this straight as I'm perplexed.

Great work!
Kind of makes you nostalgic for the days you could look in any GW store and see this kind of thing. For so many gamers, this was a starting point.

E&C,

Yeah I am Matthew Otter; I only put my name in the '3rd party' for army just encase know one new who I was (as I thought that was important).

Braveheart ... sorry don't know a Braveheart. Maybe it's one of the regulars that attend our tournaments

Thanks, I've been confused for the longest time as to why you would have two forum accounts, clearly I needn't have been. :))

It has a committe of around 30 members all assigned particular aspects of Epic (the assault rules, posting on tac-coms, each army list, basing trees, etc) working tirelessly for the two dozen chaps who like to regularily go to tournies :)

A commitee of 5 - with more involved in playtesting. The epic towers stuff is just a figure of speech- as is Matts tendency to speak in the 3rd person :vD
