The intention is that the Warlord and Reaver will be able to share weapon components (certainly that's Forgeworld's own intention at 40k scale).

In addition Jonluke will be able to use my Small Robot's weapons for his carapace weapons.

Titan weapons should be the same size for all classes. I guess eg a Reavers Apocalypse Missile Launcher would be put on top of the Warlord's carapace while eg a Vulcan Mega-bolters would fit under the carapace as shown on the sketch.

Just a few random thoughts:

Legs look a bit short compared to the height of the body and carapace. Torso in particular seems very tall.

The arrow on the left of the sketch has a note just off-scan that says "Longer Legs!"

To other concerns:

Weapon size and position will be sorted more thoroughly when I get a hold of a reaver arm weapon to measure and E&C completes a carapace weapon for me to steal.

The Thighs will probably get some armour as every warlord so far has had thigh armour, even the old beetleback had some.

But he's still in construction and lots may yet change.
Cheers for all the kind words and constructive criticism, it really does help!

An amazing job so far but please oh please don't make the legs anything like the FW 40k reaver; horrible!
If FW sold these i'd want a couple for sure...

What is it about the reaver legs that people do or do not like, if we can get specifics I can try to avoid making ugly legs. - Note I said try, no promises.

My view is that the reaver legs look like they have very little movement in them, would it actually be able to walk?

Hope you do realise it's all constructive!  I'm sure we're all behind you 100%.

Personally I don't think the Reaver legs are horrible, but I guess they don't look very adaptable to me.  They could walk along a perfectly flat plane but unlike the Warhound legs they don't seem like they'd be very good on uneven ground.

Why don't other people like them?

yes, it's the staticness. and the fact that they look too spindly; they should be bulkier! Not keen on the whole shin section being all encasing and round either; and to me those silly little toes coming out of the bottom just don't work; it doens't look as though the legs could hold such a huge machine up, make it walk, let alone take a direct hit!

Reaver rant over!

Here's a direct comparison between the sketch and the model, I'm currently working on shortening the waist section and bringing it up into the body a bit more.

Exactly :) Just pitching in with input for what is already an exceptionally impressive model

Nice comparison Jonluke. I agree with you the the waist probably needs to be brought up into the torso a bit more.

The criticism is good; my first port of call when designing a lot of my models is E&C, hammer out the ideas with him and then start the project. That's exactly how this large walking robot started a long time ago.

Hmm don't know but the whole torso looks abit to high/round for me. Can you show a picture straight from the front?

It looks great to me. I'm used to the height of the Lucius one so to me it looks nice and solid.

Nicely done with the waist drawing in, hope it's still gonna have those pistons in there too.

Also, nice coils!

Yes but the Lucius doesn't look as if height as width are the same as this one.

Here's a front-on view. Including the beginnings of the shoulder pads.
The yellow boxes are the estimated positions of weapons, very estimated!

Note: The pistons are back in on the waist as well. :)

True, to be honest I'm a bit fuzzy on this fluff wise.

Are different patterns supposed to be entirely different throughout or is it mostly a difference in terms of the carapace and fascia?  The forgeworld 40K warhounds certainly have a smiliar layout (and 'skeleton' if you see what I mean, take the armour off and their limbs and joins are roughly in the same place), but are they the same vehicle?

EDIT: any chance of a match up pic with an Epic Lucius pattern to see the comparative positioning of weapons?  Looks pretty close to me.

The two forgeworld warhounds are pretty much the same beast with different armour plates, the epic Lucius reaver was very similar to the old Mars Reaver but the Lucius warlord is a far cry from the old beetleback. Also the new 40k Reaver devites a lot from the original shapes of the old reaver, the carapace plating is significantly different at the back.
The answer here is I don't really know, little in the fluff ever talks about two different patterns in direct comparison, though it is mentioned that the superheavy tank chassis' are different, as well as armour plating.
Here's a rough scale and weapon comparison to the current Lucius:
