Hi,
I currently have a small starter Chaos fleet (2 x Murder, 1 x Slaughter, 1 x Devesation) courtesy of the boxed game, but I am keen to expand it for 2k (then 3k) games. What do you guys suggest.
I like mobile fleets, focusing on close quarters firefights but with the emphasis on manoeuverment and combined arms.
I am also a fan of fighters nd torps, gotta love the small guys .
Just wandering if you guys had any tips for me?

It looks like anothe Slaughter is on order, with some escorts. The little guys have the best movement and turning, and are the only way to get torpedoes into a small fleet.

Yep, definantly get some Escorts. They cause me a great deal of head ache. They have good range (45cm) and have multiple fire arcs, so its hard to get away from them. One type doesn't even suffer from coloumn shifts.
And as Cyber said, the one with Torps is essential, since its hard to get them otherwise.
If you are going for large games, another must is the Repulsive Grand Cruiser. Cyber will agree here (being one of his favs). It is a very good ship.

I would suggest getting a battleship for a 2k fleet, but don't get the Planet Killer. Too many fleets are focused aroung the PK. There is a Battleship with launch bays but I can't remember what it it! I'll get back to you.
Cheers

So you recommend getting three of each escort another Slaughter (as they come in packs of two, what should I build out of the second cruiser?).
A repulsive grand cruiser sounds kinda cool, at least it will provide a figurehead for the fleet.
What else do you guys recommend?

It all depends upon how you want to go. (size and composition). A Styx is an awesome carrier, and could be what you make from the other cruiser.

The Repulsive grand cruiser has torps IIRC, and it is also one of the best BFG models!! ... I would get one ..Nice firepower 'an stuff too.

Ah! I am pretty sure I have a Styx heavy cruiser in my four, it is possible that I have that instead of the Slaughter, when I return from my exile this w/e I will double check.

One is more than enough, if you already have one, i'd build something else.

Plus the Styx is overly expensive for what it is, I suggest you only have one.
Cheers
