note to myself: next time mark those damned magnets, otherwise you will get a titan which pushes away the weapons and you need to figure out how to get the magnet out...    :_(  :_(

D'oh!

That's why I used a sheet of steel when I magnetized my weapons. I didn't want to go through the effort of countersinking the magnets. So, I glued a thin piece of steel to the Titan.

I stuck all mine together in a line and taped them to a sheet of paper with big arrows that said :
"<---- to titan----------to weapon ---->"

solved it. Just dropped the upper body into a glass of fat remover that killed the superglue and the magnet was out. Now it is assambled. Pictures soon...

It is a kitchen cleaner stuff. The rough english translation is cold fat remover. I am using it to remove paint from plastic figures. nail polish remover is a no go with those.

Probably similar to Simple Green that people mention here. Attacks the glue fast.
Just like nail polish remover. This ork warboss was in nail polish remover for 5 minutes when it fell apart.

in the meantime I fixed the titan. Now the weapons are changeable and the whole thing poseable.

all here...

with a Dremel it is really fast to make the holes for the magnets.

Hmm. I had no idea the Space Marine Corps were in Europe. I wonder what a drop pod assault on Adolf's bunker would've looked like.  :vD

been away for ages...

something new...

would this be too big for a giant land krawla stompa-mekshop?

Stompas walking down the ramp as they are finished. weapon turrets, chimneys, cranes.

In the book Double Eagle the chaos forces had a giant tracked mobile fortress/airfield. The idea is from there.

Cool idea. O0

Well, it's large, but nowhere near as big as some of the machines some people have been building as special projects (cathedrals on tracks etc. ) My own Zappelin model is something like 30 cm long, so your mockup looks like a good size to me :) The trick is to strike a balance where the model gets big and imposing, but not so big you get tired of adding details small enough to give it the right sense of scale. My main problem with these sort of "bigger is better"- projects is that they rarely end up with the same detail density as regular gaming pieces, resulting in models that doesn't quite look to scale. Your size looks managable but still nicely big and imposing. Since this is an ork piece anyway, remember to keep adding bits. When you think you got enough, add 25% more and it should look good! :D

Thanks!

Hope I will find time to actually do it. Already cannibalized some cranes and stuff from toys. From the same box that this came from.

Need a bit planning and some sketches before I do anything.

Brilliant!! This is exactly what I've been trying to do for over a year, but never got the right materials to start the concept. I think I started a thread once somewhere here.

Other ideas to consider... Mek Bay, Launch pad for rockets and fightas (just launch, don't bother with landing pads), weird Boy Tower or shoota towers, and you definately need a big gun. There was a battle report in White Dwarf with the Moon Blasta, something like that mounted on an Ork train.

Oh... and he Epic Space Hulk... I've been working on that too hehe.

For the Terminator team...

And my Underground HQ, that I was planning to make a Space Hulk Version, but never got any further.
