Well I got my computer up and running yesterday, and loaded my first game onto it.  Chaos Gate.

I love this game, I dont care what you all say.  Also, my computer is a very basic one (well it was free) so i can only run smaller games.  So I'm limited in what I can play.  I also have Imperium Galactica, but I dont think the computer is good enough for that.

Anyway, I'm going to begin the scenario for Chaos Gate tomorrow.

That was a pretty cool game. I still have my old Rites of War and Final Liberation. Although my stupid computer won't play 'em.

I havn;t had the chance to play Chaos Gate yet.

Windows XP wouldn't run Dark Omens and Final liberation for me until i used the compatability mode. At least they run now.

What is your machine running signius?

If XP doesn't run a program or game get the old win98 system files for XP from the Microsoft website. No good to me though, as I run Win98 anyway.

Cheers

Hi!

I'm glad you enjoy them at least. I for one took back final liberation to the store after playing it for an hour, horrible game...

I disagree. It was the same game. Essentially. It was just a horrible engine. I am not fond of SSI's game engines. But, it was cool to be able to scratch an epic itch if you had one.

Hi!

I took it back because I thought the AI was lame and it wasn't challenging enough. Oh, well too bad they never did more that game.

Oh, I agree with you there. Although I wouldn't call that performing monkey an AI.  :p

Well (to the annoyance of my GF) I was playing Chaos Gate over the weekend.  Excellent.  I love a game called Xcom, which this reminds me a little of.

I have rights of war too.  THats an okay game, but could have been a lot better.

XCom! Woo Hoo! Love that game. XCom 2 was even better. I still have that around somewhere. I always wanted to check out 3, but it went beyond my PC of the time.

Has anyone played Fragile Allegiance? Fantastic game. Imagine Sim city, over a number of asteroids to mine, with seven alien races (all who play differently) and the ability to make pacts and send ships and missiles to wipe out opposing asteroid mines....

I lost a lot of my life to the game, and now I wil lhave to install it again.

Never heard of Fragile Alegiance, sounds good though.  I like these sort of games.

I also have (but my computer isn't good enough to play it) Imperium Galactica, which is quite good.

I had Xcom for the PSX.  I liked the first one the best (for the playstation anyway) it was the one where that played like Chaos Gate, and you had to reasearch the alien artefacts.  The second on PSX was the underwater one, which was okay, but mine didn't seem to allow me to finish it.

I could reasearch so far, but then couldn't go any further as I ran out of things to research.  I wasn't able to research better craft or armour.  Which limited me to what I could acheive (I couldn't catch the larger craft).

I haven't played Fragile Alegiance either. I have x-com and x-com apocalyps. Both of which I really love.

I've always been a Mac users, which means...

a) I've always had a really nice machine
b) My selection of games has sadly been a bit limited, especially ones by GW, e.g 0!

I've now got a PS2 (finally joined the mainstream!) so at least I'll be able to try out Fire Warrior when it comes out. I was considering having a look for Space Hulk for the PS1. The reviews I've seen looked fairly positive. Anyone here know what's like?
