I must say that I find it amazing how the camera can add brightness and even colours that the human eye does not see. The miniatures are not as bright and gaudy as pictured. Maybe I will start to photograph these on different backgrounds and settings from now on...

Ay; i found it takes a lot of fiddling around with; especially if you've only got a relatively cheap camera like me.  Try for natural daylight as much as possible and a white background always helps too.

I'd trust your eyes and say it's more likely to be the camera misrepresenting how the colours are in real life.

Regarding model photography, I've just recently spent a while looking into it and improved what I was doing. The model photography articles at Coolminiornot (need to scroll down the list some) were helpful, particularly this one here (I went out and bought one of these lamps from Argos and it's definitely helped).

Well 4 months has gone by and in-between looking for jobs and working on the World Eaters list, I found some time to do some painting.

Now my World Eaters are just screaming out to me to be painted, yet I do not want to leave a project unfinished or it will never get done. So here is the next lot of minis that I have painted up which were missing:

2 Devastator Units (3rd & 5th Company).

I also have painted up the last 2 bases of the missing Tactical squad. The group shots below shows the current force painted in all it's glory:




I really do need to take up some photography sessions...   :sigh:

I will not make closer shots of the minis as they look better from a distance and are in no comparable league to those done by Vaaish, Onyx, Dobbsy, and others on this list. I find that I just cannot find the patience or skill to be as good as these guys.

As I do not have my assault minis or Terminators based, I will continue the painting with what I have available which will be either more Land Raiders (1st Company), or Razorbacks and Predators (3rd Company).

These look brilliant, as has been said before the FOW bases on the vehicles work very well. Ive always been against the basing of tracked vehicles, but now i think i could be tempted to try it :)
