As I have already revealed, I am working on a small IG army. Im thinking its going to be compatible with both Netepic and E:A.

This is how it stands right now:

Shadowsword Co: 2 of them are already finished, only basing to do.

Baneblade Co: Almost finished. Third model needs some highlights, and basing.

Leman Russ Co: Yet to be stripped, cleaned and painted. I will try to use the same colour scheme as I have on the superheavies.

Artillery Co: Just bought the last 3 basilisks. Yet to strip, clean, paint. Either I will use the same colour scheme again, or just use a plain codex grey paint job on these.

I also have an old detachment of sentinels painted.

As yet im unsure about what infantry I will do, but either a tactical Co, Gorgon Co or both is what I have been thinking of.

This will amount to around 3000 pts (both systems).

I now suddenly remember that I have a Leviathan somewhere, that could be used with these. Perhaps I will paint that some day also. Using 2 superheavy Cos, Gorgons and a Leviathan would make a cool army, but very, very slow I reckon.

Im will try to post some pics as I finish more units, but heres a pic to begin with:

Yet another Imperial Guard Regiment is musters in preparation for it's journey to the stars in it's lifetime search of glory and renown.

What are you calling this new foundling armoured Legion? You have to have lots of background and fluff. It's the Guards law.

Hmmm... ive always loved the "lucky sevens". Maybe thats what theyll be. Painting tiny dice on tiny epic banners does however seem quite difficult.

I think just about anything at that scale would be difficult... with the exception of the "Bob's Blob's" Battalion. Dice sound like a good idea, but can you get the seven dots on 'em? Or the skull dice shaker in the background?  :ghost:  I like IG 40K transfers. It's less misery all round.  :))

Thanks guys! Lets see how the colour scheme works for these, now prepped and ready for painting. Hopefully they will be finished tonight:

That is the strangest Adeptus Mechanicus foundry and spray shop I've ever seen. Are you sure your using a proper STC? I can never get my Camo stripes straight and what I do get I don't like but yours look great.

If you are refering to the tank-on-a-stick method, its actually standard procedure, compare Space Marine  1st ed. rulebook, p. 60  :D

Sadly it is a bit risky, just before the picture was taken I removed the Gorgon from the can, a move that made the can fall over and one of the Russes´ battlecannons was slightly bent from falling to the floor! However it is very much easier to paint stuff on sticks (in this case, regular pencils).

The thing with the camo is this: I never used to think I could get it to look any good either. But with this scheme Im doing a couple of things that make difference I think. First I use a thinner stripe to mark the edges of the broader black stripes. And number two I use a black wash over the whole camo pattern, that is one wash on all three colours. Then I drybrush the black and grey, but carefully highlight the bleached bone strips, so that they stand out clearly. It gives you a sort of zebra-like effect.

Very effective painting Brother-Captain Parzval.

This army is going to look excellent when charging across the battlefield!

I had a very similar idea to your Lucky Sevens. I have decals of dice and cards that I will (one day) attach to my guard and I'll probably end up calling them the Wild Cards.

Thanks for sharing mate, very inspiring.

Steve.

I never use the model on a stick or the paint 'em on the sprue thing, but perhaps I should. No reason why I don't other than I'm used to just holding them in my hand.

I was actually wondering what type of terrain you are thinking of using on your table? Since you are painting your Guard in Urban Camo do you already have an idea for some of the pieces of terrain they will be fighting amongst?

I have been wanting to do some city and factory style ruins (Stalingrad anyone?) but haven't started yet.

I have been working on some ruined buildings, but I imagine Im gonna make a games table (mainly) in green. BTW here you can see clearly how bent the battlecannon actually was from falling to the floor
