Hey Warhead, sorry...been snoozing and missed most of this.  I have a tip I've thought up but yet to try.....Mk1 Razorback turrets.  If you could get enough of them you could a) remove the lascannon barrel for a great Immolator turret, and b) remove the melta guns for a great Sabre turret.    :oo:

BTW, love the Vindicare!  I'd use 'em as Eradicators just because it looks so cool.

Cheers, Zap very cool suggestions. Alas I have only E40K Razors and only just enough to transport my Space Wolf Great Company and their support units. Hands off!

Back to sleep now Mr Zap...

Yet more inventive madness Mr Warhead.

Great minds really do seem to think alike   I too have my stand-in Cathedral painted up at the weekend, and it looks remarkably similar to yours.

This army just keeps getting better :agree:  I really like all the vehicle conversions you’ve done.

Thanks guys much appreciated. I was pretty pleased with the Cardinals. The FoW German Nebelwerfer battery sure came in handy.

I really like all the vehicle conversions you’ve done.

Apocolocyntosis, (You need a shorter and more easy to spell name my friend... Apoc or locy or tosis... ok not tosis   ) the best bit is the vehicles are reeeeeally simple to do and fast to finish. I like to make life easy, for me anyway.

Great minds really do seem to think alike
Just admit it we are actually the same person mucking about and making the other members think we are two different people.

Mr Justiniel I will be expecting a pic on your thread very soon.   :glare:   I am in need of some cool inspiring/reference material and I have decided to charge you with this task, enjoy! :;):

Aha, so that's it...stuck for inspiration one day I fabricated a split personality so that each could inspire the other, genius.

Pic up on my blog though not yet on the thread, lousy camera  :sigh:

Hehe, just shorten it to Apoc that’s fine by me.

With the vehicles, I agree the simplest solutions are indeed often the best; although in my case im often incapable of finding said simple solutions for myself, even when they’re blindingly obvious in the end :oo: . Im not yet very familiar with all the old/new epic components, so its really fun working out where the bits in your models have come from –despite the different age and races of the components they all just seem to fit together and look ‘rite’ .

Firstly, to be clear this isn't mine - it's Sotec's version of the imperial mobile cathedral. It's certainly inspirational! Although when I say "inspirational" I think I mean "depressing". I guess it depends on whether you're a glass-half-full or empty kind of guy!

As for a name, I went for "Basilica Imperialis" for the Witch Hunters list.

Thanks Apoc,

If you have any trouble figuring out what is on/in any of these minis just get in touch.

although in my case im often incapable of finding said simple solutions for myself, even when they’re blindingly obvious in the end

I find sometimes with these models, things just click and other times you just have to put them down and do something else for a while. This is the first time I have tried any serious converting and even then I only want to use them for games not competitions so quality is fairly loose.
If you do start converting, posting your results is very rewarding. The guys here give lots of tips and encouragement that keeps you going.

Holy crud!  :oh:

Lord Inquisitor, that is one beautiful model. Sotec is a very talented and obviously crazed individual. (Crazed in a good way - only using his superpowers for good)

You are not wrong about the inspiration/depression dilemma.

I would not describe myself as a glass half empty or half full kind of guy. I prefer to think of it as being more 'your turn to get the drinks in,' so the current measure of beverage within the glass then becomes irrelevant.

"Basilica Imperialis"

Dually added to the list. Many thanks LI.

Oops forgot the update. No pics as it's all stuff you have seen. I have completed a Company of Exorcists and Retributors (groan more SM beakies).

I've been distracted by gluing and converting some of the Chaos force that John will be borrowing to fight against me next weekend but it needs to be ready on time. They wont be painted so they wont be pretty. (Convenient for Chaos Mutants)

Some stands of Celestials are shaved down and glued but not painted yet. Slow process trying to cut wings off Exarchs while still keeping the wings in one piece.
And still not happy with the Arco's but it's getting there. Hopefully pictures by tomorrow.

While not strictly SoB units I found myself converting these Engineer Tanks while waiting for SoB stuff to dry.

Tank Recovery Vehicle. Thought about a Rhino Chassis first but realised it would look too light for heavier MBT's.

ARVE Siege Engineer Tank? The ARVE of WWII had a veeery big howitzer that it used to fire point blank into fortified positions.
Or I could provide my Squats with a new tank?

SoB Units still to do/finish...

Celestials Detachment
Arco-Flagellants Detachment
Laud Hailer Squadron
One unit of Retributors and HQ to complete company
Another Cleric/Missionary/Confessor c/w book
Hereticus Inquisitor Lord

Things that can wait until later...

Thunderbolt Squadron? I may paint these in PDF colours
Cardinal Armandus Helfire Character
Redemptor Kyrinov Arch Confessor Character
Uriah Jacobus Missionary Character
Hereticus Inquisitor Lord Kazamazov Character with Throne of Judgement walker
Living Saint (Awaiting BitzBox parcel... any time now)

Ok, ok so you didn't like the TRV or the ARVE. Just an interlude... So how about these?..

My wonderful wife took me to a hobby store near Easterhouse in Glasgow. It's an Aladdin's cave of wonderful possibilities. Lots of things for the imagination. Got some pipes and tubes (beads) for the Laud Hailer. Managed to get some brushes and spray paint too.

Arco's Mk II. I took the tails from the few plastic Hellhounds and used them for Arco arms. (The hounds are now mutant war dogs and I have added stats to my LatD list).
Unfortunately I don't have enough tails for each arm but I've ordered more and will easily swap them over when they arrive. The tag arms will do for the Battle Report meantime.
