Very nice work, the army units have a really coherent look.

Thanks lads, much appreciated.

I've been a bit busy lately as I have just recently taken my first step towards the 21st century by finally getting a broadband connection. Online gaming here we come!
However, I did manage to finish constructing the Penitent Engines enough to get a bit of paint on them. Not too impressive, paint needs tidying up a bit but the models look ok... ish?.. Ach,they'll do.

Can anybody please help with a bit of background?
Adeptus Sororitas and Frateris Militia, would you expect them to be a combined force list under the Adeptus Ministorum or both as separate army lists of their own?

That's a way cool knock-up SoB army.  I'm looking forward to the Girls outing against the Chaos hordes!

Great little Penitent Engines, can I have a close up of the pilot though, curious as to what you used.

As far as my limited understanding goes the Sisters have effectively 2 jobs, the first as the military wing of the Ecclesiarchy with which you would expect the Frateris to coat-tail on, especially the redemptionist type ones, any excuse for a good religious punch-up. The second jod is as back-up to the Ordo Hereticus, here I wouldn't expect the Frateris to appear necessarily. S to answer the question: Witchunter Army, possibly leave them out, Eccesiarchy Army, definitly in.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I'm looking forward to the coming battle against Chaos too. It's a start to a campaign game so it has some strict 'must have' scenario parameters that we'll have to follow. But it's still going to be sweet. John starts with a defending Mutant Cultist force (Assault Rules) against an IG army with combined SoB/Frateris Militia allies. (It's a campaign so some rules relaxed) We talked some of it out in the past few weeks and hopefully have ironed out future problems, but you know how it is, you can't get them all.
Thanks for all your help with questions and such over the last week lads.

Here is the close up. The Penitents are simply Banshees with a hair trim and painted, I trimmed/rounded the laspistol but kept it on. I had some Banshees with no swords or arms that came off the spru that way so I got some use from them. The bottom banners are the Flags from the Eldar Flag bearer that's been trimmed down.
I'm glad you liked the result. Good enough Proxy?

S to answer the question: Witchunter Army, possibly leave them out, Eccesiarchy Army, definitely in.

Hmm, so if the army is wholly an Ecclesiarchy army then SoB/Frateris may both combine so long as support/special units chosen are attached to appropriate company cards.
Were as a Witch Hunter/Ordo Hereticus Army is more of a light fast assault SoB list only army.

I've still got two squads of Punisher Bikes (to complete the company) a Repentia Squad and a Seraphim Company to paint. Novitiates and Sisters are complete.
I'm still constructing Arco-Flagellants, Archangel Squadron, Celestial Squadron, Laud Hailers and remaining Immolators. Then I'll need to paint them too.
I'm beginning to get anxious/irritable waiting for my package from BitzBox even though they probably only just got the cheque.
On the plus side, I found my SoB 40K transfer sheets, yay.

My reply was based on fluff rather than game rules etc but I don't see why you could not play any armies as allies, especially if it's a campaign or friendly game.

Yup, definitly a good enough proxy  :agree:
Banshees eh, good one

The penitents look really great!

As Justinel says the Frateris are technically an ecclesiarchical formation (if we're going to get even more technical they're strictly an unofficial formation anyway), but then so are pentitents and they're with the Witch Hunters. So there's no real problem with including them alongside sisters and/or Inquisitors.

At the epic scale, the easiest thing is to simply use Frateris to represent Imperial Guard squads (in the new version of my list these guys will be lead by preachers anyway).

Hi lads, thanks for the comments. This is my first real conversion attempt and I've really enjoyed it thanks to the forum.

Lord Inquisitor
As Justinel says the Frateris are technically an ecclesiarchical formation (if we're going to get even more technical they're strictly an unofficial formation anyway), but then so are pentitents and they're with the Witch Hunters. So there's no real problem with including them alongside sisters and/or Inquisitors.

Cheers for the info. I'm attempting to tailor the SoB list already in existence for NetEpic in order to allow all the units as one army. So far it sounds no big problem.

Justiniel
This is purely for a campaign and not me seeking vindication for rules changes... Honest.   Besides Zap/Primarch (and so on) would string me up if I tried.

(in the new version of my list these guys will be lead by preachers anyway).
Sounds very dark and gothic, cool. I personally like the Dan Abnett IG that can think for themselves, however they still have the whole Imperial Faith thing going on.

L4
But don't get me wrong ... I'm not a real fan of the G/W Nuns with Guns/Dikes on Bikes stuff ...
Ah, so your more of a queers on steers sort then. That explains oh so much...  :vD
Sorry, all gender/sexual predilection jokes aside I have only once fought against 'some' allied SoB's before. There is something of a GW teenage boy appeal thing going on behind the scenes. But it worked for ACDC so who am I to question it.
If I hadn't registered here and started posting Battle reports I would never have shot my mouth off to Zap and ended up painting myself into a corner and being honour bound to make this army. I'm very green (and it shows) on the SoB list/fluff etc. But it's all good fun.

Plus I don't like the idea of females shooting at guys, they might get used to it !
Ah, that just sounds like someone forgot her birthday prezzy again. Tisk, tisk L4 your a 21st century man now  :)) women can just as readily contribute to friendly fire incidents as well as their male counterparts.

Hmm, after reading this again I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps that second glass (jug) of wine with dinner was a mistake?

Sorry L4 if I caused any offence. Not my intention, just thought I was being funny but probably not in reality.

I finished the Punisher Company and HQ last night. The Retrobutors have some detailing to do and the Seraphim are all base coated and I'm waiting for them to dry so I can apply ink wash. I'm dreading the Arco-flagellants so have put them off until later.

I'd prefer two bikes per stand but just don't have enough and I'm too lazy/cheep to trade for more. Use your own imagination it's cheeper.

Cool L4.

Seraphim almost complete. Some squads need last details and bases painted. (I'll base them properly at some point in the future when I learn how). Meanwhile I shaved down a spare Eldar Ranger into what I think looks good enough to be a Vindicare Assassin. Not much playability in NetEpic for an Assassin but the mind wonders sometimes and wants to do other things.
