Quote (Jackhammer @ 21 2003 Sep.,17:57) | Interesting. Do you have a timescale for their release?
Jackhammer | Afraid not mate. Will hade a very early master he was working on at Gamesday, although it was in the very first stages of sculpting (whittling as he does it....).
I really dont follow BFG so havent asked any specific questions I'm afraid. When I speak to him again (and remember...) I'll make sure I ask him hows its going.

Quote (primarch @ 21 2003 Sep.,18:30) | I once sat down and made sample fleets to get into BFG, once I saw it would cost a couple of grand to get the size of fleets that would make me happy...I decided I'd stick with one game system. I have to eat after all... | My I ask how big these fleets were and what was roughly in each one? Just out of curiosity...
The pic you posted Jimbo, although it looks like a BFG ship, I am inclined to think that it is (dare I say it...) A Manta's bigger brother... (Imagine that on the battlefield...bye bye tank company...kaboooom!!!)
Cheers
Chris

the model in my link was only about 3 cm long, and was the "wrong" scale for Epic and had to be for BFG, but I guess it could be a planetary flyer that sometimes has to go into space!!!

So in theory it IS a Manta's bigger brother, but in a different scale.
Souning by the size of it, it could well be a FW version of one of the escorts.
Cheers

was this them/it
http://www.ifelix.co.uk/gamesday2003/pa ... 24_JPG.htm | Yup, thats the one!
He's working direct from the CG plans that were made up for the game in a similar way to the Orca (cool note on that one BTW - the game didnt put any weapons on the Orca, so Will made one of the symbols on the underside into a drop-down weapons pod - you never see it in the ame, but its never said that its not there either )

Hi!
Chris, I no longer have the BFG rules or those lists, I did them about 2 years back. The fleets were constructed right out of the basic rules.
From what I remember I made a fleet to close to 125 models from the Imperial lists. It was pretty "fair" with a balance of cruisers, small craft and of course big capital ships. Pure exageration on my part making fleets so big, but I have a bad habit of making things "1-on-1 scale" so things get out of hand quick. My plan of the time was to actually make one fleet per segmentum of Imperial space!
Pure folly...
Mercifully I entertain such notions only from an "imaginary" persepective, perhaps spending an afternoon making up "dummy lists" I'll never actually buy. But it is fun to dream...
My move to PR those 2 years ago is what has made most of these "dreams" put on the back burner, not too many players here.
But who knows, once the million epic points are reached I need something to pass the time, perhaps BFG is next?

Joining in a bit late as usual!
Those prices are a bit high. Usually its ?15 for the larger ships. As I'm sure my Void Stalker is for Eldar. (cant exactly remember as I got a deal on it at one of the Gamesdays a couple of years ago).
Was there any more info on the Kroot warsphere? I'm interested where these are going to go and what they'll look like.

Quote (TuffSkull @ 21 2003 Sep.,17:43) | Will Hayes is working on a Tau Fleet based on the ship designs used in The Fire Warrior computer game. Their very different from the designs that Fanatic are putting out so they're being done as a fleet from a different sector or something. More like the design of the epic manta - all curves and "Ray" styles. | Tuff: A question came up about this on the Gothic list. Will this new fleet be new rules and stats, or just new minis for the 'normal' fleet (like the Space Marine escorts)?

However, I do know that it is being designed as an entirely seperate fleet from a different Tau home Sector, so I would guess that it would have its own rules.
Will is not matching units and making counterparts so the chances are the current units won't all get sister ships in the second fleet and some of the new ships will have no counterparts in the existing fleet.
Please note that has not come from any proper source - its just logic based on what little I do know

I believe he's added to it quite a bit since then, but its stil mighty impressive ( and totally insane....)

Added more!!! Pete, if you read this, I would love to know what you have added, and what your current pts total is....
You could do an updated document like the one epic40k.com for Incoming? Just an idea.
Cheers
Chris

| I'm still waiting for the "your own body weight in Epic" competition to begin in earnest
A comrade of mine would be close even without dieting! (though he is rather meager)

I recently received a catalog from www.thewarstore.com and they've got the Hero ship listed for $10 each retail. (US)
Just FYI.
