Are there any rules for these magnificent and fearsome ork drop pods? And if not, Would there be any interest in making some?

Not that I know of, but that's the beauty of NetEpic; it's easy to create stats for new units and minis that didn't exist prior to E:A.

If you look at it, the Landa rules would be fine for a Drop Rok.

Now....that gives me a neat idea.....couple of dog rocks from the garden, a battlewagon turret or two and some superglue......who needs $140 for a Landa Skwadron :p

Exactly! That?s the beauty of it. Cheap and easy to make.

One could make them unreliable in the extreme but tough once in play. Since they are a part of the 40k storyline they would be nice to have.
I saw a netEpic player army on display and noticed those big beautiful rokks.

Ork drop rok

During especially furious Wahhhgs the orks find it in their interest to very quickly deploy troops from orbit. The Warboss orders construction of rudimentary drop vehicles made out of hollowed out asteroids found in the vicinity of his battleships. The frantic mekboys add what they have in surplus weaponry to the steel-reinforced stone husks. Hollering happily the orks board the deathtraps which are accelerated at alarming speeds toward the field of battle.

Special rules: Initially the plauer rolls a d6:
1:  The rok has missed the battlefield  completely and lands off board and is out of play.
2-3: The rok was not well insulated against the frictional heat of the orbital entry and all troops inside must save on 4+. Everything under a 6 cm template is hit on 3+ and has to make a -4 save. Buildings save at -6 or are destroyed.
4-5: The rok lands and units under it has to save as above.
6: The rok has gained an incedible momentum and everything under a 12 cm template is hit as above. The troops inside are hit at 3+.

Support card, 3 roks, PT cost: 450. BP: 2, Morale 4, VP:5, Move 0, CAF: +4, Big Shootaz 3, to hit 4+, -1, range 50cm, Transport 8, Deep strike.

Something like this?

/j
