I propose:
One area for the important eBay threads, and another area for our own trade lists and intra-board trade chatter.
Rationale: both things are important, but they tend to interfere with own another by 'pushing' each other from the front page.

Is it that importnat though?
If you are after specific model surely best you find out if one is for sale/trade regardless of whether on e-bay or on list?
I have not been actively buying that much recently so maybe the problem does n't bug me in same way. But I would be wary of adding too many new subsections- remember the more sub-sections the harder it can be to keep track of a forum- I tend to use New Posts icon for that very reason since the numbers of sub-forums exploded a year or so back.
Cheers
James

I agree, the fewer the subsections, the better.

Ahoy James,
Let us conduct an experiment.
Have you seen my trade list containing haves and wants?
If so, your point is valid.
If not, then how can I keep my trade list in a prominent position without resorting to annoying 'bumps'? And conversely, how can I keep an eye on my friends' lists without resorting to multii-page searching?

I agree with Otterman totally. A member posts a bone fide trade list and it is swamped with these perpetual Ebay advertorials and dropped off the first page in a day or two max.
On the topic, I'm all for someone posting up an Ebay link when its a super-doopa rareity like a Resin Gargant or an Exodite or even a Warmonger, but that should be it.

I hate to sound greedy and self serving, but it really ticks me when I've spotted something I want that maybe isn't labelled properly and someone goes spreading it all over. What's worse, the person posting it usually isn't even interested in it.
If someone wants something bad enough, they should have to do the research just like I do.
Sorry, guess I'm just an @$$ at heart.
Just so my post isn't completely off topic, I'd like to see the ebay posts go into a seperate section. Unless you are advertising your own auctions, they have nothing to do with trades.

Hi. I just wanted you to know that I have been following this.
I dont really want to add yet another section right now.
I cant speak for people broadcasting 'hidden' eBay auctions. I am not sure what the 'best' policy on this it.
Would it help if I increased the number of threads per page on this board?

I think the best policy is for everyone to do what works for them as long as it's in a well mannered and well meaning way.
I'm not suggesting anyone should be prevented from posting links to online auctions, just ranting becaues it "burns my biscuits"

Perhaps a sticky thread for the e-bay auctions.
