Yes, leave them in, but with a points increase. 25 points per spore would probably be better.
Right now on an average roll you'll get 2 spawning points per spore, which is equivalent to :
- 1 Gargoyle > 25 points - 1 Ravener > 30 points - 2 Termagants/Hormagaunts > 30 points
15 points per spore is too much of a bargain not to max out on them.

I find it odd that people think it's too much when you can only use a maximum of one d3 per formation per spawning....
15 points per spore still cuts into your troop spending and they are very hit and miss in regards to points spawned.
If anything, just reduce the "outside 30cm of enemy" spawning factor to a +1 bonus or remove it altogether.
Another option is to reduce ALL (with maybe the exception of the Dominatrix) spawning on units to d3 only - no bonuses of +1 etc. regardless of unit type.

Aside from the WEs, I don't think anyone's felt that the spawning was too much in our games.

Brood (7). I agree that due to the spawning rules there is a substantial break point at 7, especially for the Dominatrix.
