well i finally got a chance to play the ulthwe list with the 1.8 eldar changes. i thiought everything worked great, the swords of vaul troop is a much more survivable formation than the old fire prism troop. the only other change i'de like to see is an upgrade for the ulthwe aspect troop, maybe plus 2 aspect stands for 75 pts ? the 4 stand aspect troop is just too fragile unless you put everybody in falcons, a 6 stand aspect troop with the same restrictions would still be in keeping with the ulthwe limited aspect fluff and be more usefull. i'll try it next time and let you guys know what i think.
no actuall bat rep but i'll post a few pics of 1600 eldar vs. tau later.

Now I?m quite interested in an updated Ulthw? list.

We have a tournament coming up at the end of February and I?ll be fielding my Eldar for the first time in real combat and am planning to do an Ulthw? list as between those 1990s infantry+MkI-Falcons-hordes I have and my preference for Guardians over Aspects this looks like the way to go.

Anyway, is there an updated list of 2.3 including the (Biel-Tann Swordwind) Eldar 1.8 changes available on the net?

And what of the pics? :)

I like new way of prisms too. That 6 aspects gives more power in engages, and with path less travelled it ain't too bad change. But still that ain't necessary, 4 aspects in right places work fine.
And I'd love to see your pics. :D

I believe MC23 said he wouldn't be doing any updates of the "alternate" Craftworld lists until the Eldar Rules Review was finalized.

And 1.8 will be finalized when? ????

I was hoping for someone to have saved me the work of updating 2.3, the changes aren?t that many, but I?d just feel better if I didn?t have to ...convince... ?:glare: people at the tourney that the list I wrote up myself is perfectly fair&balanced.

After all I?m planning to wipe the floor with them... :p

You'd probably want to ask Sotec, the army champion, at this thread on Specialist Games:

Eldar 1.8 revisions (As submitted to ERC)

i agree that the four aspect warriors works fine for some. but in my game i took banshees and scorpions and i believe that assault aspects should be allowed the +2 upgrade to be affective. of course it was only one game.

I support these, And when in serpents it gives lot more surviability and power. In 4 aspects formations have that advantage that two can fit into vampire.
Howling+spider, Scorpion+dire avenger/ fire dragon, etc. anyone? :D
Thanks for the pics mate.
