I'm pretty sure it's real. The Washington Post reported it and it's been picked up by the AP. That's not a guarantee by any stretch of the imagination but it's pretty strong evidence.
I'm not at all surprised. US culture really has some sort of bizarre obsession with nudity in artwork.

Yeah, people can be seriously wierd here about some things. But that's really sad. My god, those poor kids - having actually seen a naked statue their upbringing might be forever scarred. Well, they've fired her before she could do any more damage by exposing them to culture.

Don't worry: The teachers can still show them art from the Dark Ages which does't feature any nudity. ?Who cares about the art of the Ancient world or the Renaisance anyway? It's not like those periods had any influence on western culture...
