Thanks Epilgrim, Jaldons list is the one I've been using. It seems pretty well put together, I've played quite a few games using that army list and its good stuff. There were a couple of things that I think are in need of tweaking with it though.

Its not totally clear what happens if a land train has a section destroyed in the middle, do the other cars behind the destroyed ones rejoin the train to make a complete link or get left behind? I've been playing that they get left behind but given the slightly abstract time scale of epic I don't think them reconnecting is that unrealistic. I think either way though it should be made explicit, glad they're available though!

I really like their special rules, in larger battles they react in a way that seems pretty 'dwarf-like', ie they get stuck back in and are tough to drive back. I think they might be a bit too powerful though and in need of some stricter formation rules though as hardly anyone seems to play them it probably doesn't matter as fielding them requires an easy going opponent in the first place.

Great rules overall, I've had a lot of fun with them. I've just downloaded your Demiurg list and it looks really impressive! I'll read it through and give the new list a go, I'm liking it already purely because its got loads of background and the awful name 'squat' is gone! :)

By the way if you'd like it hosted on my webspace which is fast, reliable and banner free then I'd be more than happy to help out. I much prefer the new background, the rules look great I'll hopefully get a game over the weekend and give them a try. Are the demiurg back in Battlefleet Gothic? If so does that mean they might sneak back into 40k as well? My army has been living in a cardboard box stronghold in the attic for far too long.

The name squat never bothered me though it did earn them some unfair mockery. I thought the original background was quite entertaining too, I played against quite a few squat armies when 40k first got popular so there must be other people out there who like them.

I "made" up this story to justify the existance of the Squats past what GW told us and tied it into the fact that they think they killed them all off.

That being said the list has gotten mostly good comments and it plays well. I will be offering a final version this December after the last playtesting is done. If you have any comments based on your games let me know, I'm happy to hear you enjoying it.

However, I have spoken with SG. Regardless of my efforts and others of you who are Squat fans, SG will NEVER reintroduce the Squats or the Demiurg as I have cast them into Epic let alone WH40K. At this time, Officially, the Demiurg only extend into BFG as part of the Tau Fleet.

I have permission to post this stuff as GW/SG has abandoned the Squat line permenantly. They will live as what ever any of us want to call them for as long as we continue to play them, but they will never come back to GW as they are now.

I love to play them and in the list I made up I feel I did them justice for use in Epic Armageddon.

I'm well impressed, it goes beyond just justifying their existance and gives them a new lease of life. Its a shame they aren't coming back but its great that they live on.

They're not unused, surely they are just resting?   :D Awaiting their time to regain a place in the 40k Universe and fluff.

Of course you could use them as proxy Imperial Guard troops, I'm seriously thinking about this in some situations.  Then again I play NetEpic and they are alive and well in that anyway!
