Wow..We just played our very first game of Netepic Simply Smashing! to say the least...right...now,we had a little confusion on the popup rule and snap fire working at the same time. I saw it as if you are "popping-up" you are no longer "stationary"( rule stating that to pop-up you must be under "First fire" order),even though yuor "first fire" order says that you are?? confusion here. We had to roll the die,I won. So my hypothesis prevailed-I was able to snap fire at his popping up wave serpent. What say any of you. Thanks from Wisconsin. PS Netepic rules!

Pop up is a special case of the First Fire order. The thingy has to move in order to be able to pop up (it's pretty hard to, say, get to the level of a rooftop without moving) and, thus, can be snap fired.
So I'd say you did it the right way.
Oh, and welcome to Net Epic.

Oh, and welcome to Net Epic. | I concur with the esteemed gentleman above. I've always counted pop up attacks as being snap fireable at.

Thanks fella's. Another question do you allow simultaneaus damage?i.e. popup and first firer, possibly doing each other in?

I've always assumed that the snap fire occurs before the pop up attack

Assuming popping up takes several seconds to aquire target, one would assume likewise for an overwatch to pick up a momentary target...

I've always thought of snap fire being a rapid reaction rather than a considered shot as an overwatch one implies.
My take on it is you've got a highly wired unit just waiting to see something to move into line of sight and when it does the finger is already on the trigger...
Remember the whole process of the fire fire stage could be undermined by your choice! Surely all weapons on first fire are firing at the same time or similar times could they also not have mutual self destruction options?
Then again the rules are guidelines and if your interpretation is that they would both fire at the same time then just agree that with your opponent before hand.

Hi!
As DS said snap fire occurs BEFORE pop up fire. So if snap fire destroys pop up fire units they cant fire back.
