As for DRM, I must admit that I am inpressed with them. The detail and quality is exceptional, and there is minimal flash on the troops - in fact only about one in five guys needed any actual work on them.

Worked on 2 Soopa Gun conversions to add to one of my E:A Orkz Warbands ... And still working some weapons configurations for my TL - Mega-Gargant !

One Word: Dremel! ?
Use their work station to hold the tool in place and sand off what ever you wnt quickly.

Hi, and thanks. I actually have a Dremel. But I find that I either dont have the correct sanding tip, or the thing doesnt have the power required, since the mini slows down the spin too much. Instead, today, I went for the low-tect option - suggested by Gaunts Ghost - a large metal rasp for filing pipes!

I dont sand the infantry's bases down, I build the base I'm putting them onto up.
Put down a layer of GS of about the depth of the bases on the infantry.
You can then do one of two things:
Wet the infantry modles bases & them in where you want them. Wetting them stops the GS from sticking. then take out the model, leave the GS to dry whilst you paint the infantry sperately. Glue them into place when ready.
This is quicker overall, but will leave gaps around the model unles you're using a textured basing technique such as sand.
If you're into self-casting, this also means you can cast your own bases from the masters you make. I've not started this yet, but I intend to soon.
Or just push the infantry (usually after painting) into the GS & fold over the edges to complete a smooth transition.
I'd say both ways are ?a lot faster than filing the bases down with whatever method you are currently using!

I did consider this... particularly as I actually paint after basing the infantry (I just find it easier). It would just result in large and tall bases. I will try my new rasp... and then move to putty if that doesnt work.

I am using 1.5mm thick bases from Litko. ?Then drilling the holes into the base. ?That way the assembly works just like an epic base. ?The other bonus is that you do not have preset holes or patterns. ?You can position the figures how you like on the base and then drill. ?So no more filing until your fingers bleed. ?Though this method probably takes a bit more time than using cast bases like Paul mentioned.
Last night I got my first Kraytonian stand painted. ?I just need to flock it and take a photo. ?This is my test stand for the paint scheme I want to use.

Not to offend, but I dislike this method. I have watched as the hobby has endorsed taller and larger bases for a while now. In fact, dispite protests to the contrary, you can not win painting contests unless your figure is on a base half again as tall as the mini.
I really dislike the whole mega-base thing and will continue to sand down bases to fit my thinner bases.
I do not like the "My troops are standing on a 5ft tall stage" look and thus try to minimize the base.
