I was thinking of adding something to the text as fluff like 'think of the objectives as these Nid equivilants" so that players would ?have some ideas just what to make to represent them.

Also putting in that these are just ideas, not a rule. Sorta like the non-GT models section, a player aid.

Jaldon:p

Agreed, good idea.

I also agree - that'd be an excellent way of adding 'Nid "Flavor" without
adding special rules or un-needed 'complexification'... :D

A question that comes to mind is if a Tyranid player turns up with brood creatures and TH and Warriors.

How is BTS goal to be worked out?

Is it the most expensive model?

Or a swarm? and if it is this case then swarm sizes can be changed through out the game with either a swarm being reinforced with units being moved into the influence zone or a new swarm can take over the largest mantel. I could see a lot of book keeping being required for this.

The v5.45B 'Nid playtest list has been steadily incorporating a number of new changes:

Hi Maksim
Won't comment on the detail of your potential changes as several players more experienced than me have already done so, but I do like the way that your thoughts are heading.:D

One quick question though. Without holding you to it, do you have a rough timescale for V5.45B to be released?

I am still trying to acquire more gaunts so I have sufficient to scrape together thebare minimum 25% Common Broods. After losing a couple of weeks being away on holiday I hope to get back into playing Epic next week and am trying to plan ahead so that I have sufficient critters to do a 2,700-3,000 points list when V5.45B is released.

Cheers

James

Most expensive brood or model, not swarm. Ie could be  tyranid warriros or genestealers, or hierodule if you are buying nothing bigger.

The idea I gave to Maksim, among others for Nid Objectives, was to treat the total number of Synapse Creatures fielded as a single whole, if over half of them are in the dead tray the opponent has acheived BTS.

RE: Bio-titan 3+ RA save - yes I concur this is too tough. I would like to see them tried with 4+ RA and regeneration

RE: bio-arty -5+AP/5+AT indirect, disrupt for Biovores,
1BP Indirect disrupt for Dactocrines (poss 45cm range).

SPAWNING: ...two points to spawn an uncommon brood creature... ?hierodules - either not be spawnable or spawnable at 2 points per DC.

Hey all -

I'll be playing a large-ish game tomorrow - 5400pts. I'll be using the v5.40B list with a
few of Marko's suggested changes:
? Max Bio-Titan save: 4+ RA
? Bio-Titan Regeneration (roll 1D6 per lost DC in the End Phase; regain a point per '6')
? Biovores: 5+AP/5+AT Indirect, Disrupt.
? Dactocrines: 1BP Indirect, Disrupt (poss 45cm range).
? SPAWNING: 1 pip for Common Brood critters, 2 pips for uncommon brood critters (and per DC for Hierodules)
? Oh yeah... I'll also be using the 'Combined Synapse' option that we've been discussing
?   in another thread.

I'll be taking pictures and will try to post them soon-ish.

In regards to the earlier question on break their spirit, i'm sure in one of the other posts it was said the opponent achieves BTS if all synapse creatures are killed.

Also i to would love to see an increase for gaunts. Getting enough for the min 25% has always been my limiting factor.

Very impressed with the other ideas for change. The small amount of games i had played raised some similar guestions.

Good Work

Actually it's if more then 50% of the army's synapse creatures are killed. Eliminating them all is near impossible.

HI Orton, glad to see you like the proposed changes.

The gaunt issue is a problem, a consistent complaint from people seems to be that they are having trouble getting enough common brood creatures.

I think the best idea is to make termigaunts 15 points and then increase their FF to 5, as this is more in line with current abilities in 40k, and Jervis had said he wants the new codex taken into account. Gargoyles should also go back to having FF5, but I don't think a points cost is warranted for these.
