I am planning to play Necrons in the upcoming CanCon 2020 (january) tournament for Epic Armageddon.

I think I will be playing a Sautekh V1.1 list.

Things to decide. 2 or 3 formatoins of Monoliths?, and how many per formation?

How many Necron Warrior and Immortals Palanx formations?

Should I take Night Scythes which are fairly cheap and have 3 roles ground attack, portal and CAP/Intercept?

I want to take at least 1 Destroyer Maniple, but should I take a second, or take tomb blades instead as my second fast Phalanx?

I want 2 Pylons for my TK weapons platforms and for long range AA shooting. They are susceptable to being destroyed when assaulted, but my infantry can support them if needed. I want a Tomb Complex as well.

Lords and the Warlord are necessary, but are Crypteks really worth it at 50 points each? Does the Inspiring really help Necrons out?

I thinkl a Sautekh Dynasty list gives me more flexability, inexpensive fliers with portasl, fast formations, transports with the leader ability for my basic troops, more Monoliths per Maniple, no Phase out, and even though I get blast markers for using broken portals, I can still move those broken Monoliths forward when they break, even if it is only a 15cm move.

So suggestions.

I am thinking 3 core formatoins, 1 which will be mounted in Ghost arks. 2(x4) or 3(x3) monolith maniples, 2 Gauss Pylons, maybe 1 or 2 Night Scythes squadrons, 1 or 2 Destryer maniples, perhaps replace the second with a Blade Maniple.

I do not think I will get more than those formations in a 3000 point list. I can still move forward and do the advancing gunline tactic, but I then have Destroyers to redeploy to support weak flanks, or take objectives, and aircraft to help me if somehow my opponent blows up both my Gauss Pylons.

One thing I am not sure of is whether I can use the aircraft's portal to pick up formations which can then redeploy using another portal?

I am tending towards the Sautekh list (2) with the 4 core formations, and 3 lots of 3 Monoliths. Most of the lists have a decent activation count, with either living metal, and the Necron rule for the rest of the formations., Enough Fearless, and some TK and long range AA to help out against lots of aircraft, and also some have Night Scythes for CAP.
