| Post subject: | New to EA and a 3k Steel Legion List |
I've been lurking for about a year now, and things have lined up to give me someone to play with in my local area (I'm located in the US). So, I dove in head first and gathered some Steel Legion components. At the moment this is my list (3000 Points even): Regimental HQ 550 *1 Supreme Commander 12 Infantry 7 Chimera 1 Hydra Mechanized Infantry Company 450 *12 Infantry 7 Chimera 3 Griffon Heavy Mortars Leman Russ Tank Company 700 *9 Leman Russ tanks 1 Vanquisher 1 Hydra Artillery Battery 300 *3 Manticores 1 Hydra Storm Trooper Platoon 350 *8 Stormtroopers 4 Valkyries Flak Battery 150 *3 Hydras Sentinel Platoon 100 *4 Sentinels Rough Rider Platoon 150 *6 Rough Riders Marauder Bomber Flight 250 *2 Marauder Bombers Any help is welcome for sure! I look forward to posting some Battle Reports in the near future! |

list looks pretty solid, not sure which models you have available, but I'd consider swapping the marauders for thunderbolts and adding a second sentinel formation to boost your activation count to 10 other than that, all looks fine to get some games in, you may want to think about replacing something with warhounds to see how damn useful they are for a guard army, but give the first build a few games first to get the hang of imperial guard

just spotted, you've added a hydra to the manticore battery, I'm afraid that's not permitted, I would suggest adding the hydra to the mechanised infantry company instead who will defnitely benefit from it! I'd also be tempted to drop the griffons and use the points to upgrade a sentinel formation to more rough riders or a second hydra battery.... |

I do have Thunderbolts so I'll make that swap and see how it goes. Don't know how I missed the hydra being attached there. It'll free up points anyhow. I don't currently have any warhounds...but I think I can buy one. Thanks for the advice! |

looks good, I'd swap the baneblade for a shadowsword (much more utility in a guard army) and you're good to go!
