your marine list has 2 BTS formations. If using the old GW lists the land raiders are pretty expensive points wise. Chaplains are nice with terminators. Swap the LR formation for a thunderhawk or warhound and use the points to add chaplains?

Are all 3 of the IG artillery formations meant to be basilisks? 3*3 basilisks is a lot, swap some to manticores?

Have both sides agreed no warhounds/titans?

Originally my opponent (IG) had one artillery formation of 9 x Basilisks. But after review with the FB group he changed it to 3x3 to up the formations. When he did that I removed the Thunderhawk I had in, and replaced it with some Land Speeders to allow me flexibility at taking down the artillery formations (which is what I am most worried about)

Chaplains, are they defo worth the points for Termies?

Nope, we have not agreed not to use Titans, its just that neither of us really have - I have a few Warlord and Imperator and that's it.

LR not pretty efficient at taking out his Armour and Artillery?

Terminators are an assault formation and chaplains add a hard +1 to assault resolution with their inspiring, in addition to their extra MW attack. Assuming at least one terminator formation will be hitting that expensive tank company as its primary target it's worth it in terms of points earned back.

LR might be good at taking out armour and artillery, but perhaps not efficient. With those 3 strong batteries you only need to land 1 kill to break the formation.

Either way, you need to make sure you don't have 2 BTS formations (tactical and LR both 400pts at present). However, if you want to keep the Land Raiders (fair enough, nice iconic unit) in the list you could also do this by moving a hunter to LR or tacticals to make one of them 475pt.

As it is the IG list is illegal as you have too few company selections for your support formations (1:2)

Point taken, I will put a Hunter on the Tacticals which will be handy anyway as I plan to keep them on my Blitz

With regards to the IG list - We are using the GW lists and it appears to be 1:3 not 1:2?

Chaplins, hmm worth considering then. Will need to shuffle around some points to make it work.

swap the Basilisks for Manticores. The disrupt is far more valuable than the direct fire option of the SPA.

@ Apocolocyntosis & Steve54 - Yeah sorry should have been more specific. What I meant is that it looked like an Armyforge issue. I will let them know about it. Well spotted though as we did think it was odd but presumed the armyforge knew best!

Will drop the Razorbacks, think that's a good shout and will suggest to my opponent he try's manticores

The reason the mistake hasnt been spotted for so long on armyforge is most likely due to the fact that nobody uses the GW lists

I'll correct it but would encourage both of you to switch to netEA or EUK lists at your earliest opportunity, which are far more balanced (GW marines with 325pt termies and 250pt warhounds are stupidly powerful)

IG needs more Hydras only 2? leaves him very exposed, drop a basilisk pl in place of hydras, use Manticores over Basilisks, 2 fire turn 1, then 1 in turn 2

kyussinchains - Appreciate that and we are aware of the issues.

Rug - it was more my over cautiousness about what if I fail to bounce his Thunderbolts and bombers?? He is the same with his Hyrdas. Maybe I should risk dropping the Hunters though, or atleast one of them. Scouts is a good call, I don't have but my opponent will be happy enough to accept "count as". The only reason for avoiding Thunderhawks is due to not finding them that efficient in the past.

Junkstar - he originally had Hydras but was told to drop them on the FB page.

This will be our second game against each other. In between times we have an on-going email discussion about tactics, armys etc

with you having 2 lots of TB's 1 will be on cap and one on ground attack? Depending where he places the 2 hydras could mean free reign of the skies.

I would put a hunter with your BTS/Supreme commander imho , or remove the LR's and give everyone a Hunter. Being SM harder to suppress it, plus gives you AT 4
