Caveat: Please be nice i'm a beginner.

I have a large Imperial navy miniature collection that i'm keen to get on the table. I've never played epic before but i've inherited quite a collection of epic models including an E:A rulebook. So to that end I've decided to build a 3,000 point list and join the UK tournament scene. I have been watching some good battle reports online from Hena. But I still dont feel I have grasped how units are best made up.

My Imperial navy:

4 (FW) Thunderbolts
4 (FW) Lightnings
2 Marauder variants

Im hoping to build a list I can use as many of these navy units in as possible, then use other things like the small titan collection, and new purchases etc as needed.

To that end I have chosen the Harakoni Warhawks list, attached is the first list I have created, before buying the large amounts of Vultures and Valkyries needed, I would appreciate some advice and feedback.

Any help appreciated

Cheers
Archie

Hiya Archie,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Epic and the UK scene.

The Warhawks look like a fantastic list with lots of cool models but please note that they are a NetEA list and therefore not part of the official EpicUK tournament armies.
While many tournament organisers might allow the use of this list, other won't.

I would recommend you to look for the UK equivalent called Vanaheim 7th Air Cavalry.
You'll find their codex here: http://epic-uk.co.uk/lists/CodexImperialGuard.pdf

The best army builder out there is Armyforge: https://traitor-legion.appspot.com

Happy list building!

Out of curiosity, where are you based in the UK?

Thanks for the advice Mr Gonzo.

I prefer the units in the warhawks list. Specifically the grav glider, and the the marauder acting as a troop transport.

Do you think the army list is less balanced than the Vannaheim list? The latter seems too stale for me. Just men in choppers.

Since im a newb, im happy cherry pick tournaments or narrative battles that are more relaxed. I try and paint to a higher quality than i game so hopefully this may work in my favour.

Hi IJW, we met at the infinity event last year at birmingham expo :)

Im in telford if you know any local clubs playing epic?

I was in your neck of the woods recently on holiday, and was hopingto visit the club, but my baby daughter had other ideas that tuesday :(

Hmm, there's a bunch in Birmingham but I can't see any listed closer to Telford. :(
