Hello all!

I have been slowly building up bits for an Astartes army. Now I have dug it out and looked at it - I seems I have too much in the way of Warhounds, rhinos and attack bikes and perhaps not enough other things.

4 FW Warhound Titans
1 FW Thunderhawk
1 FW Thunderhawk transport
4 Whirlwinds
4 Whirlwinds or Hunters (unglued)
2 Drop pods
26 Rhinos (Modern metal ones)
8 Razorbacks
5 Land Speeders
4 Vindicators
4 Predator Annihilators
3 Dreadnoughts
4 Land Raiders (Modern metal ones)
10 Attack Bikes
24 Normal Bikes
2 Terminator formations (8 stands)
2 Tactical formations (12 stands)
2 Devastator formations (8 stands)
2 Assault formations (8 stands)
Command Blister

If I pile all that into the army builder app it comes out at about 5500-6000 points

What should I be doing with this lot? I feel kind of lost. What should I peel off into another army (Blood Angels/Dark Angels) and what should I put in a "trade pile".

It seems that Thunderhawks are sought after but I'm guessing that the FW ones are super rare now. I've heard that attack bikes aren't great so I should probably pass some of those off onto others.

I'm guessing I'm looking very thin for tacticals and should try to get some infantry at some point, but I'm waiting for some to come available later in the year from a friend.

Any thoughts? :-X

Will PM you about possible trades....

You should be fine with two tactical formations 99% of the time, I'd make the second lot of whirlwinds up as hunters, unlikely to use more than 2 in most games but in a bigger game it might be worthwhile

My main concern would be that you're thin on the ground in terms of scouts, there are plenty of suitable proxies for marine scouts so I suggest bagging a couple of formations....

You may want a third Tactical formation for larger games, but 2 will often be fine for 3k. 4 or 8 Scouts could be good to acquire too, they're normally handy. Keep an eye out for another FW Thunderhawk too, though that could be a long shot.

You have too many Rhinos (you currently have 20 infantry that could be transported in them at 2 each so using 10 of them). It's handy to have a single attack bike with a biker formation. Another possibility is to run an all attack bike formation and it's ok but a bit under par. If they're the metal models it's possible to not use the seperate attack bike piece and fill the small hole it fits into if you want to use that one as a regular bike instead.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, FW thunderhawks were rare, the only equivalent rarity thing I have are the FW Warhounds. There was a Chinese site selling them a little while back but they seem to have been taken down.

Hi!

There is no such thing as too many epic minis. ;)

Sorry I have seen the thread title for the last few days and I could not resist the urge to say it. :P

Ha ha yes Primarch, I believe you have the biggest armies of anyone!

Yes, I am looking at getting some infantry sorted out so I will end up with over 5000k+to draw on.
