I am just a fledgling Eldar player, but I have grasped the Alaitoc list as my go to list when building my small Eldar force. With a focus on Rangers and Pathfinders, I find myself looking to use a few Aspect Troupes and wonder the myriad of uses for them. Mainly I am looking for something to put into a Vampire Raider and other basic tech for using aspects. Keep in mind I am using the above named list so Troupes are 6 units. |

Warp spiders + exarch in a Vampire raider wirks good. 6 first strike FF4+ is really, realky good for clipoing assaults... |

Reaper exarch and 5 lots of dire avengers is pretty potent, maybe swap in a couple of stands of scorpions to btb stuff like tanks, they also have a better save..... |

Most suggestions are going to be a variant on that. Avengers/Scorpions will get you more hits but is less clipping more of a meat grinder. Dragons would be good clipping an armored unit. Reapers will be more clipping and serve as a nice firebase if you can get them back into cover. I probably wouldn't try this with Spears or Hawks, they've got mobility enough on their own. And Banshees... well if you're a real man you'd try this with Banshees... |

So I am so new I did not realize I could mix up the aspects in each Troupe. For reference, here is my 3000 point list: Alaitoc 3000 Wraithgate 50 Avatar Free Guardian Warhost (3 Guardians, 3 HW, 1 Farseer, 2 WG) 250 Ranger Warhost (4 Rangers, 3 War Walkers) 200 Ranger Warhost (4 Rangers, 3 War Walkers) 200 Ranger Warhost (4 Rangers, 3 War Walkers) 200 Pathfinder Troupe (4 Pathfinders) 200 Pathfinder Troupe (4 Pathfinders) 200 SOV Troupe (3 Fire Prism, 2 Fire Storm) 250 EOV Troupe (2 Cobras) 450 Nightspinner Troupe (3) 175 Apsect Warrior Troupe (6 Dark Reapers,Autarch) 300 Nightwings (3) 300 Vampire Raider (1) 200 I have the Reapers in the Vampire currently, but I am intrigued to now possibly mix up the aspects in the Troupe. So what would be a good mash up for this specific Troupe? |

I'd sub some reapers out for avengers, much better in FF, no less survivable, can clip as easily, make sure to include an exarch on a reaper stand, the extra FF is nice but the inspiring bonus is golden Also agree with Dave, give Banshees some love..... ![]() |

I don't think I can have an Autarch and an Exarch in the same troupe in the Alaitoc list since the Autarch fills the 0-1 exarch slot, unless I am reading it wrong. So perhaps 2 Dark Reaper Stands and 4 Dire Avenger Stands? |

Noob alert! I keep reading about clipping assaults. Is that jargon or should I just rtfm?! Sound sort of tactical and important... |

Just the usual 5cm dismount, its why warp spiders are good, they can do a 15cm dismount Re: exarch, I missed that you had an autarch already, may be worth keeping him as a warp spider for the extra save.... |

@dave - thanks for this. So aspects are good at clipping assaults because they can concentrate a high number of attacks over a small number of stands/space? |

So what exact loadout to you recommend for the Vampire Raider then? Pure spiders with the autarch? |

Alf O'Mega wrote: @dave - thanks for this. So aspects are good at clipping assaults because they can concentrate a high number of attacks over a small number of stands/space? Aspects are good at assaults in general, but yes. Adding in 1-2 Inspiring characters make them killer. |
