Regimental HQ with hydra 550

Tank Company with Hydra 700

Tank Company 650

Vulture Squadron 200

Vulture Squadron 200

Vulture Squadron 200

Death Battery 200

All for 2700 points. Why dont I see more of these? I have tried and tested it. It's a cheap force to buy and deals admirably with any force that comes its way. Titan pose no problem, niether does armour or infantry. If you are thinking about starting gaurd then give this a try. Just expect people to start whining in turn 2.

Not seeing a lot of those might have something to do with the incorrect price of the Vultures. They're 300 I believe.

Still, that's a valid 3k list. Light on air cover though with lots of nice THawk/drop bait.

Playing against what? And how much terrain are you using?

I'd expect most marine armies to beat that.

As Meph notes, terrain will make a huge difference.

A wary opponent is going to beat down the Vultures ASAP, leaving you way behind on activation count. Against an opponent with SR4 or 5, I would expect to be down at least 1, possibly 2 Vulture formations before your first action.

Seven activations is a little low for 3000 points, unless you're playing AMTL. I agree with Mephiston and Dave and would expect a Marine army to beat it.

Vulture Squadrons are 300pts each............... :o LOL

I have seen this type of Army list before, and as has been stated above, Space Marines do have a pretty easy time of it against them. The Speed Freaks Army would run a close second to the Space Marines, with a mobile Chaos Marine Force running a close third.

Your activation count is on the low end of the scale with four out of seven formations that can be easily taken out of action due to low numbers. Most low activation armies are the reverse of this and are made up of a majority of large harder to break formations and maybe one or two small formations (Usually long ranged support formations whom remain well out of the action, hopefully)

As has been stated above my targets would be those Vultures and by turn two I will have taken at least two of them out of action. Then in turn three I would use the activation advantage to go after the Russ's in assaults.

After softening them up first with a few crossfires

I'm quite new to epic, but that army is terrible...
It is vulnerable in so many ways that a balanced force will just rip it to shreds!
6 activations (assuming you drop one of the 200pt formations to fund the 300pt vultures) is nothing and as others have said, the opponent will hit your weak formations ASAP.
