I was just looking at getting myself a half size case for travel and noticed they have a great offer on. Order a Transport Bag, Backpack or any Aluminium Case and you get a free card case (full or half size) including trays (free choice of trays). details on site, valid 'til end of month: http://www.krmulticase.com/default.aspx ![]() |

I like N4s for general use: I put several stands in each hole then, then D format pick and pluck for larger stuff (can pluck to fit defilers well). I also have some of the 610 (6 and 10mm scale) trays, which are ideal for anything not waving weapons in the air. Codex marines, for example, fit fine in 610s, the 8mm khorne berserkers waving chain swords around don't fit so well.. They have templates of the trays you can print to scale here: http://www.krmulticase.com/resources/trayprintouts.aspx and tray size info here: http://www.krmulticase.com/resources/traysizes.aspx For the two half cases I just got I went for: N4H, N4H, D3H (H just means fits half case) thats leaves a bit of space as those three wont fill a case to the top, but i wanted the deeper pick and pluck anyway. And N3H, V5H deep 70mm deep pick and pluck to keep warlord titans in! |

Hmm interesting Apoc, I'll try and get some pics up of mine within the next week, I have about six cases full of epic at the moment but need more. I've pretty much just gone with V2H or J2H trays for big stuff., then D4H and M4H for vehicles and infantry. |

Here are some pics of the three tray set up I have for transport (moving/tournaments, rather than just sitting in storage). Think this is N4T, N4T, D4T – that's a tray short of filling a case, but i carry the EA rulebook, a board for casualties, and army lists in the remaining top space between two flat pieces of topping foam. ![]() Defilers in Pick and Pluck. Aircraft fit fine in here as well, I pop the flight stands between tray layers (stand between trays, base perpendicular to trays down the side of the case). Warhounds fit in here as well as long as you cut a small slit in the tray above to take the base hight. ![]() ![]() Stands and vehicles. A lot of the infantry for this army are converted and oversize (very tall mutants, weapons sticking out to the side etc) so I pack between 1 and 5 stands per hole depending on the stand. Chaos squats are 5 to a hole, converted chaos terminators only 2 to a hole. |

Hi! Wasn't there a thread on this last year? I think I posted some pictures ans recommendations there as to the sizes and what they could hold. Primarch |

I spent some time figuring out all the compartment sizes to maximise storage space, because I found if I don't do this they won't all fit into a standard case. It really depends on how you have things based. For example I didn't really find that N was that useful for my guard or eldar, as other trays would give me more spaces. For example: M = 40x25, good for two strip bases back to back perhaps, 1 cavalry or a guard tank (the latter is what I would use them for). You get 25 per half tray. D = very flexible. You can make compartments of size 40x20 (30 compartments for 2 infantry or 1 cavalry), 40x30 (20 compartments for larger tanks or skimmers based on 30mm flying bases), or 40x50 (15 compartments for 4 infantry or super heavies). It's also good for pick and pluck because it is the layout with the smallest and most varied pluckable bits, though it matters less if you'll cut the foam. R = 20x20 compartments, I think 48, these are great for the old GW bases and anything mounted on pennies but IME most armies don't have enough of these to be worth it. If you cut the walls you will get 50x20 though, which you could use it 2 strip infantry. P = 30x21mm so will snugly fit 36 GW russes or FW chimeras or sentinels, depending on bases. Personally I wish they provided pick and pluck in tiny squares but they seem to be based on their core trays instead. Titans will require a pick n pluck probably 2/3 deep if you have large Titans on 60mm bases). On the other side I find the 1/4 fine for almost everything. I do wish they made their 610 range in standard 1/4 sizes, the 1/5 are both a bit small for lots of infantry, and incompatible with other trays. They just don't work well for epic IMO because you can only get either 1 for tanks and 3 for infantry, or 1 for infantry and 2 for tanks. |

I have 3 armies now in KR cases - SMs, IG and Eldar. I ordered a range of trays, but by far the most useful has turned out to be the "M" - perfect for 2x strip infantry or small plastic tanks (rhinos) and 1x larger metal (russ/wave serpents) and you get loads in. If you have square/round bases - two fit in perfectly on edge with a little bit of spare pick&pluck foam between. The square holes can be made with the p&pluck. The cutouts are connected at the mid points on each edge - with a craft knife you can cut out the ends but leave a strip across the middle. I have a lot of small stuff on penny bases (dreadnaughts, bike, thud guns etc. the pick and pluck 20x40mm(not sure on code letter) makes perfect snug 20x18ish holes for these. Still trying to find the best approach for larger size stuff, but again I have p&pluck and its just a case of suck and see to get the best fit. |
