Hi Guys,
do you know this situation
you have something to sell on e-bay
now you are watching similar auctions
to get an idea what is it worth
" Oh 30 pounds ...nice"
Now you are throwing your stuff on e-bay
and what happends?
You only get 15 pounds for your stuff, even in better condition?? :o
What went wrong?

Or another one:
You want to buy let me say a warlord titan weapon
and you are watching similar auctions
to know what you ahve to pay for
" Ahh 10 pounds is high 5 is cheap"
so you pay 7 pounds the next auction and you are happy that you did not paid 10 or more

Now a several weeks later you watching an auction for the same item ending at 2,50 pounds :'(
That sucks

As I´ve starting buying 6mm(EPIC) stuff on e-bay
I paid too much sometimes(mostly "buy-now" auctions)

Maybe we can give epic newcomers an idea whats a good price and whats not:

For example: Imperator Titan
New in Box: Cheap 40 pounds - 100 pounds expensive
New on spure: Cheap 25 pounds - 50 pounds expensive
Assambled: Cheap 20 pounds - 50 pounds expensive

something like this

It would be useful for OOP models and rare ones

what do you think about it?

best regards

ule

For most Epic models, I see a fiver as being my balance point and use that as a guide to see if things are expensive or cheap. I've bought loads of stuff for a fiver in the past including these gems:

Plastic sprued up warlord titan with no weapons
3 Knight Errants
Box of 5 sprues of mk1 imperial guardsmen
Box of 5 sprues of Space Marines
Numerous E40K blisters
2 FW bunkers

I basically look at whats being offered and, unless it is a rare model on my list, I see how far off a fiver it is and decide if it's worth it.

I typically use the item's original retail price and rarity to help me decide how much I want to bid. Also, I take into consideration how badly I want the item. I know this method isn't very helpful for newcomers, but it seems to work for me.

Sorry to say this but you are trying to add logic to a illogical process. Ebay is not a science. What something sells for is as much about being lucky to post something when a couple fo guys wan tit or not. I have posted items back to back and had one sell for almost twice the second time. I just got lucky that someone was looking for it at the right moment.

Yes, rare items may dobetter, but you can help your luck by posting notices to places like TMP and Bartertown (in the right areas of course). Yahoo Groups or here as well if it is something folks would want. But if you do not have a few bidders who all want it the item will sell for less. It is a fact.

If you are not willing to spend the months of studying sales, then the price is what you are prepared to pay.

Simple as that I am afraid.

Other option is to ask on here.

Since much of Epic is OOP ... the price could go either way ... ;D
