Seen here

Granted, alot of the Forgeworld stuff is now OOP, but I don't think I ever saw Tyranid stuff. On a sidenote, he also has a boatload of other resin goodness for sale.

I think they were a fairly short run. Nice models but I think they destroyed the moulds far too quickly or something.

Carl Woodrow of dropship has a nicely painted one here:

E&C probably knows all about what happened to them (the molds that is).

As far as I recall FW were asked by GW to stop making them when they decided to not return the tyranid plastics.

Several other nid prototypes were made by FW, including a Hierophant and Hierodule. The Hierodule was completed but was destroyed in the moulding process and the sculptor couldn't bring himself to start again.

I believe E&C has pictures of the masters somewhere?

No, it's the other way around. When it became clear that GW wouldn't be returning the 'nid plastics to sale there was no point in FW continuing to "sell" a model that wasn't actually selling.

Yar I'll post 'em up at some point.

Found pictures of Hierophant, can't find any pictures of the Hierodule though.

Alas, poor Tyranids. We'll never see their like again (well not in 6mm at least). Gone the same way as the resin 6mm Space Marines, chaos releases, stormblades, baneblades, eldar skimmers, epic tau ...

Heh, I *really* should put some pictures of my resin cast Tyranid sculpts back online.

might I suggest press-molding if anyone has a single one to spare? I've had some really good results with some Eldar of mine, even complicated models like a storm serpent.

BTW Twilightwalker, sorry about missing you on Vassal today, I leave the window open while I'm at work to make it quicker to start up again :)

Resin works better than Green Stuff, should anyone be that way inclined...

in what way? Durability? I'm using a mix of green stuff and modelling clay and it seems to be holding up well, easy to trim too. Not to take it completely off topic, but I've seen plenty examples of pour casting and unless the model is pretty simple, they don't tend to come out terribly well. Degassing and pressure pouring is a different kettle of fish, but also a different league equipment and cost wise.
