Anybody else? earthad -  Thanks!   A bit of background on Shapeways: They are a 3D printing company where anyone can upload their designs and order prints. They use a variety of technologies and materials to produce the 3D models, with cost based on the volume of the object. Once ordered, the parts are shipped via UPS. Minimum Order is $25, but that includes shipping. (Note: if anyone is put off by the $25 minimum order, PM me and I can bundle you with an existing order). From order to delivery is 10 business days, though I've had it take as little as 7.  Shapeways offers a variety of printed materials. The one I generally use is called "WSF" for "White, Strong, and Flexible." More info can be found at http://www.shapeways.com/materials/. The WSF material has a slightly rough surface to it, so the "White Detail" material may be preferred for a smoother finish (Personally, I think the roughness is small enough to not matter).  The WSF material takes fabric dye very well, and can also be spray coated and painted with standard model paints (i.e. GW, Vallejo). My preferred process is to use RIT fabric dye to give a base coat, then spray a matte finish on the model before using model paints for detail. http://s871.photobucket.com/albums/ab27 ... d%20Minis/ has some photos of mini's I've painted, or which were painted by Impoverished Lackey Painting Services. The models can also be cut apart and glued. More techniques can be found at the Shapeways Post Production forum, found off of http://www.shapeways.com/forum/ I am a big believer in the promise of 3D printing, especially for the miniature market.
